Cenote with friends

We thought it might be fun, and useful, to build a cenote check list. This list will keep you pretty busy, and could have you racing back for more on another vacation. This is exactly what happened to us in the late 80’s and suspect that you could also catch the cenote spirit!

Churros

Wandering the streets of the Yucatan be it in Cancun Centro, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, Valladolid or Merida the smells, sights and sounds of street food tantalizes curious visitors. Tacos are easily identifiable as well as corn on the cob slathered with mayo and chili powder, but one of the yummiest treats on the streets is churros. Who can resist fried dough with sugar?

Temazcal ceremony

Temazcal is a unique traditional ceremony that involves a steam bath, used in traditional ancient medicine by diverse cultures. These traditional ceremonies were originally performed by several indigenous groups including Aztecs and Mayans.
