We were lucky enough to just happen on this Mayan dance ceremony being performed at La Buena Vida Restaurant in Akumal. While this was for tourist entertainment, many of the smaller villages and traditional towns in and around the Mayan Riviera still perform ancient ceremonial rituals as part of their culture.
