Vacation Tips

One of the greatest things when traveling to Mexico is the relief of having someone to assist you in the event of an emergency. Don´t get us wrong, Riviera Maya is one of the safest places to visit with family and friends (children included), but there is no such a thing as “too informed”. We are always trying to come up with helpful information for our dear travelers and this time we have found some basic details all our readers should have if they are traveling to this beautiful paradise.

Pharmacies And Especial Equipment

There are many options in Cancun, Playa del Carmen and Tulum town for pharmacies that are inexpensive. Most of them located on the main avenues. One of our favorites is “Similares”, they provide generic medicine at a very affordable cost and the best thing is they also offer consultation for only $60.00pesos which is less than $5.00usd. Similares pharmacies/clinics are basically found every two corners, the only thing is they are not open 24/7 but from 9:00am to 2:00pm and from 4:00pm to 8:00pm you can get diagnosed. Probably the only disadvantage is that the Doctors wont speak English most of the time, but the pharmacy service is simply great, just don´t forget to bring your Medical prescription.

Another great service we have found for travelers with special needs, is the rental of especial equipment. Wheel chairs, scooters, accessories, cribs, car seats, oxygen tanks, you name it! Playamobility delivers to your condo or vacation house and you can also visit them directly in Playa del Carmen office. Deliveries in Playa del Carmen town are completely FREE.
