Alternative Health in Playa del Carmen with Liliana Cruz

Liliana Cruz

Liliana Cruz joins me on today’s podcast. Originally from Mexico City, Liliana moved to the Riviera Maya in 2003. After living and working in Cancun and Tulum, she now calls Playa del Carmen her home. Liliana has a passion for spa and wellness. So much so, that she now runs a mobile spa service, and sponsors an annual Alternative Health Fair.

Her background in business administration offered her an opportunity to run a spa in Tulum. She drifted from the business side to the practice of alternative therapies. Liliana studied massage, cosmetology, acupuncture, and yoga, and it has created a new life for her. She created SpaMobil Tulum in 2007. She and her team take their therapeutic practices on-the-road to perform yoga classes, set up sweat lodges, and perform massages, including the ancient practice of Mayan massage.

In 2014, Liliana split her company into 22:11 Spa & Salon and Love for Love. Love for Love provides ceremonies for weddings, renewal of vows, and birthdays.

Living near the ocean and the jungle provides Liliana the energy and peace she loves. She enjoys taking long weekends to discover little towns around the Yucatan peninsula.

Living in Tulum made her appreciate the people of the area. In an effort to give back to the community, she and her team created an Alternative Health Fair. They offer low-cost services everyone can afford. 22:11 Spa & Salon will also participate in the Alternative Health Fair in Cancun on March 22-23rd and in Playa del Carmen on April 22-23rd. Services include a therapist, team activities, organic products for purchase, and food stands.

Liliana loves the cuisine in the Riviera Maya. She recommends Panuchos, Papadzules, Lima soup, Cuernavaca, Chicharrones, and Gorditas.
