2011 marks the sixth annual celebration of the “Festival of Life and Death” at Xcaret. The park will be alive with the pungent scent of burning copal, the rhythmic beat of drums, faces painted like skeletons, and orange and yellow marigolds scattered about, all to set the stage for the Day of the Dead remembrance that is observed yearly throughout Mexico.
During this four day celebration, festivities will include concerts, plays, dances, art exhibitions and a variety of children’s activities. Traditional gastronomic goodies prepared to honor the dead and satiate the living will be in abundance.
Celebrate this cultural event to its fullest with all the the sights, sounds, scents and flavors of Dia de los Muertos at Xcaret October 30, 31, and November 1st and 2nd beginning at 4:00 PM
