If your idea of a good time and a great golf experience is playing on a course that tests your tee shot, your nerve and your determination, then you’ll love Playacar Golf Course. This course was carved out of the Mayan Jungle, and full of large lagoons and ponds. This is not an easy course but golfers love the challenge. It is a wonderful place to bring your passions for golf and determination together.
This magnificent 18-hole, par 72, golf course is considered by many experienced golfers their personal “Mount Everest”.
Designed by the renowned architect Robert Von Hagge, Playacar Golf Club features narrow fairways and small greens, archaeological remnants, cenotes (natural sink holes) and, possibly, iguanas that threaten to disrupt your putt. Surrounded by beautiful lakes and lush tropic vegetation, it has the highest slope rating at 148 and a layout that stretches to 7,144 yards. When you think that it can’t get more challenging, the 7th hole will prove you wrong. It is, without a doubt, one of the hardest par 4’s not only in Riviera Maya, but the entire Western Hemisphere. The par-5 11th hole will test your limits as well, requiring at least two good shots before you even see the green. On the bright side, with Playacar’s great practice area, complete with a driving range, a large putting green, and its well-stocked Pro Shop you can noticeably increase your chances of success.
Playacar Golf Course set the benchmark for other golf course in the area. The all -inclusive option which is included in the price of your green fees ensures you have plenty of light snacks, chilled coronas and more. We think the golf course offers this all-inclusive option so golfers have an excuse for less then stellar scores. Blame it on the free food and drinks! Note that the Playacar Golf Club also has an onsite spa, Playacar Palace Spa, so if non-golfers want to share in the day, they can certainly hang out here.
