For the ones who are just finding out about this family friendly restaurant. They actually started as a small beach restaurant that served seafood. The family owned business quickly begun to attract more and more visitors. In 2005 Hurricane Wilma destroyed many hotels and restaurants on the beach side. One of them was Oscar & Lalo´s little palapa. However, the restaurant kept its amazing clientele and they re-opened with a stronger infrastructure now on the jungle side. The menu and service have also improved greatly with time. Now the restaurant is located right in front of the entrance to Soliman Bay. And it is open for lunch and dinner from noon until 10:00 pm Monday to Sunday.
Family Traditions
The restaurant has always been owned by the same family. Friendly local people who are conscious and respectful of the area and its visitors. It is great to know how committed they are to honour the traditional Mexican and Yucatecan recipes. Adding love and effort to every process, which definitely shows at the final product; their delicious menu. Their incredible support to local farmers and vendors is also worth mentioning. Also, half of the area where this restaurant is located is designated to grow veggies and fruits. They happen to grow most of the ingredients used to prepare the meals and ensure their quality.
