Very few “hidden spots” stay hidden for locals, and we recently discovered one that stands out from the rest.
Maybe you think you have tried everything in Riviera Maya by now. But a 35-meter-high tower, with a sky bar on top, might be just what your heart was missing. Imagine visiting the most iconic ruins in the area, after the ocean view and stunning pyramids seeing everything from above.
This sweet spot can be perfect for couples, families, and everybody who is interested in trying it. Find out all the details for your next visit to Tulum. This is definitely one of the attractions we would recommend our travelers not to miss.
This stunning tower is the Mexican sister of five, other similar projects. Three of them located in France and offer amazing views of that country. Our Tulum Tower was built with French engineering and took six months to complete. Then, engineers took a few more months for testing and making sure it was safe enough to welcome visitors all over the globe.
Tulum Tower started operating in November 2018, and since then it has been one of the highlights of the town, just as important as the ruins. It is located right next to Tulum ruins, by the shopping mall at the entrance.
Unlike the ancient “Voladores” ceremony, visitors of the Tulum Tower are not left hanging in the air.
This is a very safe activity, and all the visitors are secured with a harness. There is, of course, a guide and an assistant making sure everybody is properly seated before taking off. This activity doesn’t involve high speed. It ascends slowly for everyone to enjoy the view. Once in the air, the tower will spin while you enjoy the courtesy drink and the explanation of the guide. The guide provides important facts about the history of Tulum and Mayan Civilization. It takes from 10 to 15 minutes the whole experience, but it gives you a more unique and meaningful souvenir for your holidays.
Tulum Tower operates from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm every day, including Sundays.
But it is important to book in advance because there are only 16 seats per turn. The 360 degrees of panoramic view will amaze you. Pictures and videos are of course allowed.
If you are interested in the local culture you cannot miss this rare attraction and the opportunity to be 35 meters above the Mayan jungle and ruins.
The rate is $20.00 USD per person as of today. We can assist you with reservations in advance if you are considering bringing your family (the more, the merrier). E-mail us at [email protected] to find out more about Tulum Tower and other amazing attractions in Riviera Maya.
