We truly loved our stay here. We had a very interesting trip. We actually arrived on the 30th for our entire trip and originally staying in another unit. It wasn’t peak season, so we knew chances for rain were high. Our first unit started leaking all over the kitchen, so another property owner who was staying there helped us get in contact with this unit and move over. It was within an hour that we were all moved. The rain brought a slight leak to this units kitchen, but this was was able to be fixed very quickly. The location is beautiful. The units are comfortable and very clean. It was myself, my husband and our two daughters. We had such a wonderful trip. We will come back. Rain happpens. Leaks happen. Never let that ruin anything for you! Enjoy how wonderful the town and people are!

The overall rental experience was excellent. The booking process was simple, straight forward and all of my questions were answered in a timely fashion. Also, the online pictures accurately reflect the current status of Condo #1. Lastly, future renters should be aware, if seaweed lands on the beach in front of Play Caribe, or on the neighboring condominiums on either side, NO effort is made to remove it. It is left alone to let Mother Nature take it course. To enter the water you must walk 300-400 yards to the north to find the beginning of properties who remove it. It is what it is.

We're so glad that everyone in your party enjoyed their stay at Playa Caribe. Good news is that this summer the bay will have a containment barrier installed and hopefully reduce the amount of seaweed on the beach. Unfortunatey, Half Moon Bay's unique position and delicate ecosystem doesn't allow for heavy machinery and the amount of seaweed is so much that even when we had men shoveling 8 hours a day, their efforts hardly made a dent. Do let us know when you're ready to join us again and we'll gladly update you on the sargassum situation.

Playa Caribe unit 1 is a beautiful unit that opens directly on to the beach. The unit is set away from the pool which is ideal for a more "chill" space on the patio. The unit was clean and well maintained. Beautiful views and great pool. The only negatives were that the coffee maker was broken and when we told the property manager on the first day, he failed to replace it for our entire stay. The second negative was the extremely bright rope lights they use to light the entry to the condos. They shine through the patio doors from about 10 feet away on the bedroom all night. We had to cover the door with blankets to keep the light out so we could sleep.

We loved Condo #1! It was spacious, clean, and bright. The staff at Playa Caribe are fantastic. We stayed with our two children, ages 5 and 8, and we had plenty of space. We also traveled with 4 other families who also stayed at Playa and it was great to have all of us in one place together, yet allowing each of us to have our own condo.

We've vacationed yearly in Akumal for over the past 10 years, and have sampled a fair number of condos and villas. This unit is nice and well kept, with no real flaws. It has central air which is not typical, and a real bonus in hot/humid weather. The building staff are friendly and efficient, as expected. The pool is small but sufficient unless you have a fair number of kids with you, when it might be a bit tight. Only suggestion - get rid of the sign ("More chairs available on the north side") which isn't needed and blocks the view from the condo, as shown.

We felt very safe, the beach and pool were perfect for our stay. The condo looks just as the photos. The location is ideal, limited access to outsiders and several beachfront restaurants within a short beach walk. Will absolutely return!

Although the showers in condo #1 were a little iffy- we made ado. It would have been nice to have salt and pepper at least for guests. Everything was meticulously cleaned and the beds were very comfortable. We really enjoyed our first stay here!

This was a beautiful spot to stay. It was wonderful to wake up and see the ocean from bed and then be able to walk directly onto the beach. Augustine the day manager was extremely helpful. The condo's were immaculate and the maids were incredible.

The area was exactly what we were looking for--quiet village atmosphere. Several restaurants within walking distance that we enjoyed. There were more amenities in the condo's than we realized. The grill mentioned was portable and shared so you had to reserve it for dinner and did not have exclusive use to it but that didn't really bother us. Being able to drink the water was a HUGE plus!

The area was exactly what we were looking for--quiet village atmosphere. Several restaurants within walking distance that we enjoyed. There were more amenities in the condo's than we realized.
