Four Bedroom Penthouse

One of our favorite units and definitely an Akumal classic, Penthouse at the Reef is a very special four bedroom, four bath condominium, occupying the entire third floor of The Reef. Recently remodeled, this luxury suite is stylish and chic. It is the only 4 bedroom condo in Akumal. 

The stunning hand painted mural upon entering the 3rd floor is your first clue that this is no ordinary unit. As you enter into the penthouse, you are greeted by a large picture window with an incredible view of Half Moon Bay that leads to an expansive oceanfront terrace and outdoor living area. The ideal place to entertain and enjoy this amazing vista.

The owners created an elegant and beach themed space and their care is evident throughout the condo. Delight in the modern, fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances and extra large breakfast bar for seating. Enjoy gourmet meals at the custom made dining table while taking in the views of the Caribbean. The Penthouse has four private and well appointed bedrooms.

The Bedrooms

The Master features a king bed, Smart TV, ensuite bathroom and oceanfront terrace that can be locked off for seclusion. The oceanfront guest suite is just as beautiful with a queen bed, Smart TV, ensuite bathroom and a beachfront terrace.

The jungle view guest bedroom has two double beds and Smart TV. It also has its own private bathroom with dual sinks and soaking tub. The 4th bedroom is a studio suite with its own full service kitchen, queen bed, and private entry, this bedroom is great for those that want extra privacy.

Exclusive Location

The Reef has a great central location on Half Moon Bay. Easy walk to La Buena Vida or La Lunita restaurants. With direct access to the beach and snorkeling, the Penthouse at the Reef is the best property for your upcoming vacation to Akumal.

Beautiful condo with amazing views! Great location, can walk to several good restaurants. Beds very comfortable. Unit was spotless when we arrived. Be prepared for stairs, it is the Penthouse! The one thing I wish the complex had was a pool.

The Penthouse was a wonderful place to spend our vacation with our two sons and their families. Everything from the layout/flow and comfort of the complex worked for us. The balconies and views were exceptional. The daily maid service kept everything clean and tidy-the maid was great as was the condo management team who made themselves available on a timely basis when we needed assistance. WE did not need a car because of the great location and did rent a golf cart to access some areas within Akumal Bay. Our overall experience rates a +5 and we are so grateful that we were able to spend time at this condo in Akumal.

We loved our stay at the Penthouse at the Reef. Plenty of space for our family members, comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchen, very quiet and peaceful, with extremely easy access to the beach. The views were wonderful--sunrise was a favorite time. It was extremely pleasant to just sit out on the balcony and read in the afternoon if we didn't feel like going to the beach. And the enormous hot tub was a big hit. The staff members were all very friendly and helpful. We especially loved the cenote tour they recommended.

I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. I stayed there for a week and had a great time. Location is close enough to Tulum, we were able to drive around. We chose this place for that reason. Tulum is too crowded for me, this place you have the peace and quiet.

This place is PERFECT literally what you see is what you get if not better. The host was accessible around the clock, helpful and very responsive. There’s security round the clock security, private parking, a various restaurants and excursions all on the premises. The Airbnb it self is located on the beach, air conditioning, WiFi and a fully stocked kitchen (literally all that you can think of and it is brand new). Only suggest is having a car or back may be helpful when getting around.

Beautiful views, loved falling asleep to the sound of the ocean! If you’re looking for a relaxing place away from the crowds, this is it. We stayed mostly in, walked to the Lunita restaurant down for drinks and snorkeled all day. My brother even got married on the beach, and they allowed it because it was a very small private wedding. It was one of our best vacations ever, and that says a lot considering it’s Covid season and we’ve been everywhere. We’ll be back for sure!

The only problem with the Penthouse is its lack of air conditioning. This was something that I completely missed in its description. Couldn't imagine that it wouldn't have it but it did not. Due to the fact that we had a 3 year old with us the heat and humidity the first 3 days was pretty bad. Had there been a/c our stay would have been flawless. Over all it was a great place

Very nice unit for our family, inasmuch as kids enjoyed one bedroom/bath, and we enjoyed the king bed and bath. Great staff. Builing is a little older, I believe, but that allows it to be bigger, vs. those built more recently. Very gracious patio decks, front and back, compared to anything else that we saw on this beach. While we were there the master shower became very smelly. The staff worked hard to solve the problem, as well as a broken closet door caused by a prior guest. They were very sensitive not to inconvenience us. No TV, and no DVD player. Would be a nice add. Great maid service. We would stay again.
