Akumal and Half Moon Bay are perfect for a quiet get away. Far from the craziness of Cancun or PDC or Tulum. Great restaurants, especially in the pueblo. We've stayed in many of the condos. All have been great.

This unit was perfect for us! Great table on the patio for morning coffee. Even with the Sargasso the location was still great. There are plenty of other things to do and there are vendors at the entry of the bay that will give you a good deal on snorkeling, atvs and boat trips. The small store in walking distance had good prices. I would definitely stay away from the General Store near the OXXO. Great food and groceries just across the bridge in Akumal Central. A short drive from Playa del Carmen and Tulum for awesome day trips! The housekeepers came in daily to clean and always did a great job! Bonus: A turtle laid a nest right in front of our unit!

The condo was super clean and cleaning staff and grounds people were all wonderful. Office manager was very attentive to all needs. Love the town of Akumal and how safe I felt there! We love Akumal, and this is our 3rd time staying at Luna Azul. The condo is bright, clean, and very spacious. Was perfect for our family of 5. The kids loved the freedom to come in and out to play in the sand right outside the door. The internet is really fast and we had no issues with it at all. Our next Akumal trip will definitely be booked to stay at Luna Azul again.

We arrived on a Saturday to our very clean condo. The first floor condo was literally 100’ from the ocean. We’ve stayed in another condo close by last year. Check in was quick. Housekeeping comes in every morning to clean the unit, make beds, do dishes, switch out towels etc. The area is very safe. There is a small grocery store about 50 yards away from this condo. Basic items including beer, wine, and alcohol can be purchased there. It is very quiet in this area. No late night partying going on. There are many things to do from here. We had a great time and will definitely come back.

Beautiful condo, steps from the sea, located in a quiet and safe community. Many restaurants to choose from at walking distance. Two things you need to be aware of, no washer and dryer but there is a laundry service in the village, and spotty internet. We were surprised that maid was cleaning every other day.

Great condo right on the beach. We did have an issue with construction noise in the neighboring building. Lots of hammering and drilling. Management did reimburse us a little bit. I would make sure there are no other building projects planned before booking again

Fantastic beachfront location, literally 10 steps from the patio to the sea! Marcia at Akumal Direct was super responsive and helpful. Staff take great pride in keeping the surrounding area clean and tidy and we liked the 10pm to 8am quiet time which everyone seemed to respect. Easy walk to the village where we would recommend Turtle Bay restaurant, and also great snorkelling in the nearby lagoon

Great place, perfect location online pictures definitely doesn't give this place justice . Beach front view is beautiful. This place gives you both a local and tourist feel. Already planning on our second trip.

Great place, perfect location online pictures definitely doesn't give this place justice . Beach front view is beautiful. This place gives you both a local and tourist feel. Already planning on our second trip.

We had a great stay on our girls trip. We loved stepping off the patio and having our toes in the sand. The condo is a good size, the kitchen is well equipped to cook meals and blend up drinks, the location is right in the middle of the bay which we liked and management was quick to answer any questions. Things that made this condo better than others we have stayed at in the past: -the mattresses, while still firm, were not too firm and we all slept really comfortably on them. -hot water lasted a long time with 4 girls showering back to back -a/c was nice and cold at night -a lot of windows with screens to enjoy the ocean breeze. We didn’t even need a/c during the day A few things to note: -There wasn’t daily cleaning service like we have had in the past in other condos but they did come twice out of our 5 day stay (I think the change may be due to Covid) but wanted to note it as everything gets sandy really quick and daily service is such a huge plus. We would have paid extra if we had known it was limited -bring your own or rent snorkel gear. This is my 6th condo to stay in on HMB and the only one that didn’t provide all gear. It was my fault to assume and I would have brought my own if I knew it wasn’t provided Overall, we loved our stay, we love HMB and would recommend this condo for your stay too! We felt very safe in the area in general, stores take temps and sanitize your hands to get in. Definitely go, enjoy and help the locals with good tips!

Luna Azul was a fantastic place to stay. We could hear the ocean and feel the breeze from every direction. The condo is set up set up perfectly for privacy, views, and comfort. It had everything we needed for the beach, bathing, cooking and comfort. I had a lovely time with my three children. Akumal was safe and the people were very friendly. My children 11, 13 and 16 ran around from the condo to the restaurants alone the beach, the grocery store, shop in town and to Dive shop with no concerns all day and night. Everyone we met was friendly. We snorkled everyday. We saw huge turtles, sting rays, and so many beautiful fish. I recommend the round trip shuttle from airport. It’s a very quick 1hr drive. Playa de Carmen is 30mins away for shopping and change of environment when it’s rainy. Covid 19 - Everyone was wearing masks at all times. Not tshirts or scarves over their mouth. Real medical masks. Our temps were checks and hands washed before we entered any place. You walked in one way and out another. No one complained about it.

We had a great stay in Akumal and really enjoyed our beach front condo overall. It was very clean and everything was a described. The beach is beautiful and we really enjoyed getting into the water everyday and sunning on the chairs in front of the condo. The only area for improvement is with the wifi; it was weak and inconsistent throughout our stay. We were there for holiday so it didn't affect us too much but had we needed to work we would not have been able to. The connection supported email but would not have supported Zoom / video conferencing.

Wonderful stay! The only problem was that the room was not cleaned before we arrived and a room key could not be found. This was resolved shortly, and the room was cleaned while my wife and I relaxed on the beach. Great time!

We arrived shortly after 5:00 PM and we had some difficulty trying to find out how we check in since their was no longer anyone working in the office for the day. It took us a while to find out how to get the key to get in the unit.

I recently stayed at the Luna Azul property in Akumal for 5 nights. The location is fantastic; it is literally right on the beach and the view is breathtaking. My only recommendations would be to have more beach chairs for the property and better mattresses and pillows in the bedrooms.

We had the opportunity to watch a 3 1/2 foot sea turtle come out of the ocean and lay eggs. It was amazing and a memory we won't forget.

We did not see the property manager when we were there. The reservation was made through Akumal Direct. We arrived late at night and could not find anyone to open our room as everything was closed. A security person happened to be in the area and let us in. It was a beautiful facility and were there for our son's wedding. The property was very expensive and we could only afford to do something like this on a special occasion.

We have stayed at the Luna Azul twice and would go back again. Our family loves this area of Quintana-Roo. Its not 'Cancun Crazy' just Laid back and relaxing. Swim with sea turtles, right in front of your condo, or walk down to the park (6 blocks) a small addmision and your swimming with tropical fish in the lagoon. rent a car and you are a short distance from Tulum, Coba or many other great day trips. Just remember to keep a full tank of gas!! our freinds ran out and that was a pain as the gas station was out of gas too!!Bring your snorkel gear and have a great time!!

This was a top notch location for a week away from home!! There were good restaurants/outdoor lounges just steps down the beach and many attractions within an hours drive. The only issue was the broken air conditioner in the second bedroom. Otherwise, A+ for the property and for Akumal Direct!!
