The Perfect Tropical Getaway in Akumal

Situated on the tranquil beach of Half Moon Bay, La Bahia #1 is a favorite amongst long-time visitors of Akumal.  The owners have given extra special attention to every detail to ensure that their guests have everything they need to enjoy a relaxing getaway to their Caribbean condo.  This will be your new home away from home!

Thoughtfully designed and beautifully decorated, La Bahia #1 was recently refurbished in 2020 and features two large bedrooms each with an ocean view and ensuite bathroom.  The bedrooms are furnished with pillow-top mattresses so you can enjoy a comfy sleep after a day of fun in the sun and snorkeling.

Bright and colorful, the open living area is well-appointed with plenty of colorful comfy seating that overlooks the beach-level oceanfront terrace. For indoor entertainment, you have a Smart TV, board games for the family and a small library of books. You and your group will have everything you need to be entertained and enjoy quality time together.

The fully equipped kitchen with granite countertops and bottled water will provide the chefs in your party with everything they need to prepare snacks and local favorites....including legendary margaritas.  Or, you can let our concierge staff arrange for cook service so you can experience traditional Mayan Mexican cuisine.  Relax beachside while dinner is served!

This condo also has a washer and dryer in the unit for your convivence.   

Everything you need for a Beach Vacation

Complete with folding beach chairs and small cooler...this condo truly does have it all!  Bikes and Golf Carts are available to rent so that you can cruise around town.  Snorkel Half Moon Bay, Yalku Lagoon and Akumal Bay.  Enjoy fishing or diving with the Akumal Dive Shop or have lunch beachside at La Buena Vida. 

Akumal has something for everyone and La Bahia #1 is the perfect rental for those wanting to explore this incredible beachside town.

We have stayed at la Bahia several times over the years. Unit 1 has been our favorite. We love stepping out directly from our patio to the beach. The unit is well equipped with everything you need for a simple meal at home. The staff is available for any problems you might have in the unit or obtaining a tour or rentals for bikes or carts. We love the small intimacy of having only a few units on this property and we think it’s the nicest condo along half moon bay.

We loved our lovely and comfortable ground-floor condo with such quick and easy access to the beach/snorkeling. Office staff were great - and very helpful - allowing us to leave our luggage while we waited for the unit to become available and, again, when we left while waiting for an airport shuttle. Enjoyed exploring North Akumal- Yalku Lagoon folks allowed us in to see the sculptures and we loved the green juice and local coatis at the Jungle Cafe. Upon arriving home and realizing I'd left my computer at the airport, the staff of Akumal Direct were incredibly helpful in arranging to receive the laptop and get it to my daughter who had stayed on. Amazing customer service!

The unit is well stocked and comfortable. It's exactly as described in the photos, the office is right there to answer questions, and key pick up was super easy. We really enjoyed relaxing to the sound of the waves crashing on the shore. It's handy for all you want to do in the Akumal/Tulum area. We come to this area a lot and it truly is a hidden paradise.

La Bahia Unit 1 is a lovely place on Half Moon Bay. The unit is fully stocked with all the kitchen equipment you need. The staff is responsive. It's steps from the sea on the ground floor, which is a great bonus. Conveniently located near Yal Ku lagoon, restaurants and shopping. We'll be back!

We had a pleasant stay in November. Good location. We rented bicycles but could have gotten around by walking as everything was located in a mile radius. Good food at local restaurants. Housekeepers were wonderful. Airport transportation was on time and friendly.

This condo and the location went well beyond expectations, that were already very high just based on other reviews and the web site pictures. Ground floor location was ideal, the management was efficient and welcoming, we could not have asked for more. A couple of good restaurants a very short walk away and a handy convenience store within metres. All the boxes well and truly ticked. An added bonus were visits by nesting turtles virtually at our doorstep

Another wonderful stay at La Bahia. This visit was in #1. Excellent condition, beautiful decor and well maintained. One surprise was the TV - which is all app based. Bring your passwords if you intend to watch Netflix etc. No satellite stations

I was delightfully happy with the beautiful condo.
Clean and well cared for. The beach was great for swimming. I loved being near the little store and a couple of restaurants as we did not have a car. Thank you for letting us stay there! The office was very helpful, and staff was very friendly.

My husband and I had a fantastic time staying at La Bahia. The staff is super friendly and accommodating, the layout of the condo was very open and comfortable, the kitchen fairly well stocked, and best of all, it's fabulous to walk directly out onto the beach. The bed was a bit firmer than we typically like, but that would not deter us from staying there again. We love Akumal!

The condo was located near town and store, which was helpful. We were just in time to see the bundles of turtle eggs. Without a doubt, we highly recommend this condo.

La Bahia #1 was perfect for our family. Everything we needed and more! Being right on the ocean is wonderful, especially at night, listening to the waves. The staff is very attentive, professional and friendly. We had 9 month old Amelia with us and she was so happy! Thanks so much!

The condo suited our needs very well. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Security was good. This was our 26th trip to the Akumal area and La Bahia was as good or better than any other places we have stayed.

It was our first time in Akumal and we were very impressed. The location, cleanliness, friendly and helpful staff exceeded our expectations. La Bahia #1, was beautiful, had a spectacular view, and comfortable. This place will be a definite repeat. Thank you to the hosts who were very helpful and accommodating.

This condo is beautiful and well appointed. If you are headed to Akumal this is a must!!! Giving you access to great snorkeling, restaurants within walking distance, and peaceful surroundings. Staff at La Bahia was lovely and owners are quick to respond. Just make sure to check out the sargassum seaweed reports if you are unfamiliar with it. We are pretty flexible travelers so we walked up the beach to snorkel and enjoyed the nearby lagoon.

We were very happy with this place. It is clean, well cared for, comfortable, bright and cheerful. On site management was great as was our communication with the owners. The condo is in a great location with good restaurants within walking distance and snorkeling out the front door. We would highly recommend this place and we would return again.

Everything about this property is easy! Check in was seamless. Open the patio door and you are on the beach. All the neighbors were very friendly. So close to a lot of amazing restaurants.

Great property with easy check in. Steps to the beach.The location is very private and secure in an area dominated by CDN and US visitors. It’s a very short drive to Akumal Beach which has a number of good restaurants and shopping. Recommend a car if you stay here as it’s about a 20 minute walk. Free parking is available outside the condo.The condo and beach are beautiful and exactly as advertised.Highly recommended!

The condo is clean and management friendly and helpful. Right on the beach, chairs and palapas to lounge, ocean breeze always kept us cool and the view is just stunning. Nice walk to town, great restaurants, easy snorkeling in the bay, so nice to be back in Akumal!

We have stayed in many different properties all over Mexico and this place was so amazing. Great location In Akumal. Area was gorgeous, clean and safe with great activities and restaurants near by. The condo itself has a great floor plan, gorgeous views and is well set up. The staff was friendly and attentive. We will be back for sure!

We picked this property for its location right on the beach and the quietness of Akumal. Very comfortable apartment, literally on the beach (20 mts from the water), and perfect for a relaxing time.The apartment is great, has everything one may need to have a calm few days away from the other bustling and overcrowded places in the region.Thank you for allowing us to stay in your place. Would highly reccomend to friends, and for familys. The two rooms make it idea for a family or smaller group of friends. Amazing location.
