A stay in Villa Dos Jaguares is more of an exciting cultural and artistic experience rather than a laid-back vacation in an ordinary beachfront home.
This original, striking-white contemporary villa seems to rise right from soft powder sands of South Akumal beach and it is impossible not to stop and take a few moments to admire it.
Inside, Villa Dos Jaguares is just as spacious, airy and stylish, opening onto a mesmerizing view of the Caribbean. The fact that the designers used the same warm rich-caramel wood, exquisite marble floors and turquoise-colored accents throughout the whole house, creates a soul-soothing atmosphere of simplicity and space.
The open-floor living space of Villa Dos Jaguares incorporates a spacious living room, a cozy dining area and a beautiful fully-equipped kitchen with a curved breakfast counter.
Expansive glass doors open from the living room to a beachside patio, featuring another outdoor dining room and an elegant lounge area facing the gorgeous South Akumal Bay.
The upper floor of Villa Dos Jaguares is dedicated to 3 out of the 5 lovely bedroom suites. The long hallway, inspired by the Palace at Palenque arches will lead you to the beautiful Master suite. The most impressive ‘features’ of this room are a deluxe en-suite bathroom with a large Caribbean-view tub, an outdoor Bali-style shower and a lovely beachfront balcony overlooking South Akumal Bay.
The other two upstairs guest bedrooms come with private bathrooms and are furnished with a king-size bed (the first room) and 2 twin beds and 2 futons (the second room).
The downstairs bedrooms have their own advantages, offering privacy and easy access to the beach patio or the garden courtyard. One of the rooms is furnished with a double bed, while the other comes with a queen-size bed. Thanks to the intelligent layout Villa Dos Jaguares has enough room to comfortably accommodate up to 12 guests without the house feeling overcrowded.
The ‘crown’ of the house is a beautiful rooftop observation deck. From here you can get a different angle of the turquoise waters of South Akumal and once again admire the unique architecture of the villa.
So if you are someone who appreciates modern art, simplicity and a divine Caribbean atmosphere, it is a good idea to Book Villa Dos Jaguares as soon as possible!
Especially considering that you will also get a FREE home-cooked dinner, 4 COMPLIMENTARY massages – a generous gift from the owner to make your stay even more enjoyable and memorable!
5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms. Maximum 12 people.

The house had interesting architecture, Mid-Century Modern Dean Martin meets Mayan ruins, with a very spacious feel. The outdoor courtyard Jungle Jacuzzi, and Jungle Shower in the master bedroom were both a unique experience. The staff were all so friendly and warm and very helpful. However, they did not seem to have performed maintenance at all before we arrived. The Jacuzzi was dirty and completely inoperable, except for once when they poured clean hot water into it so we could enjoy it for a few hours, until the water eventually cooled again. Also when we arrived the guest room upstairs did not have hot water because the water heater pilot light was not on. Also a pipe under this bathroom burst at 7am pouring scalding hot water all over the floors. They did not have a pool so we were really looking forward to the Jacuzzi as our main entertainment gathering spot, so not having it was a big disappointment and value loss for what we paid. However, they treated us to a nice home cooked meal as compensation for all the daily repair visits for the water heater, burst pipe, and inoperable jacuzzi. I would have preferred a substantial discount, since the main feature of the house was broken the entire time and the constant repair visits really did not allow us to completely relax and enjoy our vacation. I probably would not rent this house again, unless I was guaranteed the use of the Jacuzzi and that they had performed maintenance checks on the pipes and water heaters. But I'm glad I experienced it once. I would mention this place to a friend with all the warnings, but would not completely recommend it as a first option.
