The secret ingredients of a posh, worry-free beach vacation are a spacious villa with a gorgeous pool, stunning views of the Caribbean in the background and, of course, good company.
If you already know who you want to spend your vacation with, we may have the perfect place for you to stay. Nestled among the white powder sands and palm trees of South Akumal, Casa Texana serves as an ideal getaway for families and big groups looking forward to relaxation, long walks on the beach, fun cookouts and pool parties.
This deluxe two-story beach front villa boasts 2 expansive living spaces one on each floor, several beautiful dining areas, 4 stylish bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, 2 lovely kitchens, and a rooftop observation deck with a spectacular panoramic view of Akumal Bay.
The beach level of Casa Texana features a grand living and dining space with glass sliders opening onto an outdoor dining area and an elegant pool deck decorated with beautiful, silky-smooth lime stone tile. This is an ideal place for cookouts and pool parties as the downstairs kitchen is only few steps away, offering everything from new appliances to a built-in ice maker, from a custom-made bar to a high-end wine refrigerator.
Besides the open-floor living area, adorned with brick dome ceilings, the main level of Casa Texana also hosts 3 spacious bedrooms. Two face the beach and are furnished with king-size beds and private sliders leading to the pool. While the third bedroom offers a tropical garden view and comes with 2 twin beds.
There is another large living space, a fully-equipped kitchenette, a wet bar and a sliding door leading to the outdoor terrace. The terrace is a cultural masterpiece in itself as it is decorated with original Mayan stone art carvings and features a rare Chac-Mool Statue, carved by the Maya over 500 years ago.
The upper floor terrace hosts a cozy dining area, so you can dine in style here, feeling like Mayan royalty.
What’s more, the master bedroom suite is located on this level as well. It features a brick domed ceiling, a comfortable king-size bed and a private ocean side balcony where you can enjoy your morning coffee.
But even this is not all, as a stairway from the second floor takes you to the rooftop observation deck, where you could take picture of the sunrise or look for shooting stars at night. If you actually see a falling star, the first wish that will probably come to your mind is to come back to this Caribbean paradise one more time!

This was a once-in-a-lifetime family Christmas together (2011). Me and my 2 sisters, their families, and my mom and dad - 8 in all. It was spectacular. the house had just been renovated. everything is first class. sparkling appliances, new tile, bathroom fixtures....everything! but what made it even more special was the attentive assistance of Gabby and Christina. they are wonderful. we are not used to having people shop, cook and clean for us but we got the hang of it ;) and everyone was happier. it's worth letting gabby take care of things and bump up the tip.
the house is amazing but put on your snorkel gear, paddle out and you have an underwater wonderland. we used the kayaks every day.
Akumal is not the place for a cultural experience. It's really americanized. which is fine as a base-camp because it's easy to hop on the highway and be off to more remote destinations.

From the moment I stepped through the gate, I loved the place. The house was AWESOME. I really liked the observation roof as well. You can see so much from up there, and it is very peaceful. Being able to walk out the doors to the pool, the to the beach was great. I could live in that place. The layout was great. The staff, Gaby and Christina were great. They were very polite and very helpful. It was well worth the trip there.
Oh. A big bonus we had while there was being able to help with the hatching baby turtles. An experience of a life-time.

Every inch of this house and property are top of the line. Beautiful inside and out. You eat breakfast with the ocean in your sight, then walk out the door and go snorkeling, walking, swimming or kayaking. Cozy landscaping offers shade when you want it. Easy walk up the sandy beach to Akumal central to eat or shop. Sea Turtle nests were on the property and we got to experience their hatching. Our family felt very comfortable and safe from the moment we arrived. The opportunity to stay at Casa Texana for a week was the vacation of a lifetime!!

The property is stunning, very clean modern with many ammenities, beach toys and the kitchen is stocked with all the cooking supplies a western cook would need.
The beach and location is beautiful, a half moon bay with gorgeous views.
Plenty of shade by the pool and many grape and palm trees provide shade by the beach, the hammocks were an awesome touch.
Pretty close driving distance to other town centers and activities.
For the price, we would EXPECT a swimming pool and sandy beach.
The pool was freezing, the kids could bear it but that was it. No swimming for us.
The water was full of large coral and rocks so we had to wear shoes to walk by and for sure if you want to walk IN the water. So jealous when we visited nearby sandy beaches.

I had the best time while I stayed at Casa Texana. The staff was beyond helpful and patient. Thank You Christina and Gabriel for everything you did for our group of 7. One of my most memorable moments I will cherish forever is the hatching of not just one but 3 turtle nests during our stay in October of 2012. Everything was perfect. Thank you Mark and Maureen for allowing me the opportunity to experience Mexico for the first time in such an extravagant home. Two thumbs up.

I have stayed at several properties in Akumal and Casa Texana was by far my favorite. It is an absolutely beautiful home. I highly recommend it.

We stayed in Casa Texana in late March. Three couples with no children. Beautiful home, furnishings, outdoor areas. Lots of room to spread out. Great beach access. I know a previous reviewer stated negative comments about the beach access but if you have spent any time in that area you would agree it was excellent access especially to the reef. Easy access to Akumal and Tulum. Our arrival dinner was awesome. We like to do things ourselves including cooking so we did not utilize the ability to have our meals cooked every night. We loved the kayaks and access to other water toys! We were given lots of privacy and can't wait to go back in 2016! The only two suggestions we have is that the beach towels be switched out every or at least every other day and the upstairs bar area to be wiped down before guests arrive. Casa Texana was one of the best homes we have stayed in since we started vacationing in Akumal over 12 years ago!

Stayed Dec 27 2014 - Jan 4 2015. 7 people. The Good: Very Secure - guard & gate at top of road, security guards on the beach at night; Home is in a lovely location right on a nice, full sand, semi-private beach (no crowds); Very comfortable & clean grounds and outdoor spaces ? upper and lower patios, beach chairs, etc.; Very nice pool to cool off in; A/C in all the bedrooms; Lots of useful supplies in the kitchen (spices, oil, etc.). The Not So Good: Intermittent and sometimes no WIFI; A/C remote controls all had dead batteries in them; TVs are fine but DVD players are v. low tech ? we couldn?t play the DVD we got at Aktun Chen; Lots of plastic garbage every morning on the beach (some of it sharp); Shallow water is very rocky (always wear good water shoes when entering the water); Housekeeping was inconsistent (day-to-day and room-to-room) ? the supplied purified water bottle on top of the fridge ran dry; Hot water took forever to get to the showerheads and faucets. The Bad: Dishwasher did NOT work and was not fixed - all the dishes had to be washed by hand (by us and/or the staff).
