When we think of the Caribbean the first associations that come to mind are the turquoise hues of the ocean, sun-kissed white sand and the vivid green colors of Yutacan Jungle.
But if you look closer, you will catch a glimpse of the soft pink hues of live coral reefs that Akumal and Half Moon Bay are so famous for.
Taking its inspiration from the warm coral color, Casa Luna stands on the south rim of Half Moon Bay in Akumal. Overlooking the Caribbean on one side and a lush natural park on the other, Casa Luna gives you an open feel, much-desired privacy and plenty of space to rest and slow down after the hectic city life.
Delicate tropical greenery, outdoor patios, and a beautiful swimming pool create a secluded oasis – great for early morning meditations as well as for fun afternoon cookouts accompanied by fresh cocktails and relaxing reggae beats.
Casa Luna incorporates 2 gorgeous master bedrooms, one cozy guest bedroom, a sunken living room, beautiful fully-equipped kitchen and an elegant circular dining room.
The house is crowned with another ‘architectural gift’ for its guests – a rooftop observation terrace with a private wet bar and magnificent ocean views. This is a perfect place for snacking, playing cards or chatting over a cocktail with a good friend.
For more hearty meals, check out the expansive outdoor dining patio. It has been proven that any meal tastes 10 times better when savored outdoors with the Caribbean in the background. While cozy hammocks, hanging close by, remind you that you don’t have to go far to claim your after-dinner siesta time.
Now the real question you should probably be asking yourself is…
“How many people can you take to share an amazing vacation at Casa Luna with you”?
The answer is 8 to 10. The ground-floor master bedroom can accommodate two people, as it comes with a king-size bed, en-suite bathroom and access to the pool. The upstairs master bedroom has the same layout and commodities, but instead of a patio; you have a private terrace. The guest bedroom is located on the first floor and comes with 2 queen-size beds and a private bathroom.
If you are travelling as a couple or have more people joining you, you can also rent a one-bedroom guest house, located on the second floor of Casa Luna.
It features a living room area, a dining bar, a fully-equipped kitchen and a bedroom with a king-size bed and a private bathroom. If you have teenagers or a couple travelling with you, they will absolutely love staying here and having their own privacy.
The last thing worth mentioning is the fact that Casa Luna is located very close to the best diving spots, shopping stores, local restaurants and gift shops of Akumal. So everyone will find something to do while staying here.
If coral-colored Casa Luna sounds like a wonderful place to spend your vacation, then hurry to find out if it is available for the dates you want.
The sooner you do this, the greater your chances are to get it!
4 bedrooms. Maximum 10 people.

A great Caribbean home on the water which is perfect for separate couples as there's independent living areas under the roof but excellent common areas. Easy walk or bike ride to Akumal. Great sunbathing, vistas but alittle windy on the Point.

Short walk to beach and to restaurants. Great house with nice views. Not the best house for young children, although we had 2 children under 5 and didn't have any problems.
We would definitely stay here again.

We have nothing but positive thing s to says about Casa Luna. It was slightly dated and rustic but we really liked that. It was very clean. The staff could not have been better. Sylvia is a master cook and Luis was so great with our kids. There were 6 adults and 4 kids in our party. The grand parents used the Casita which is a little newer. The pool was key to the enjoyment. Yal Kul, the beaches and restaurants being a short walk/bike away made Casa Lunas location unbeatable. We travelled to Tulum and Hidden Worlds which were both very cool but Akumal and Casa Luna were everything we were looking for.

We have now stayed at Casa Luna twice and both times we had a wonderful vacation. The Staff is excellent and the house is always spotless. The views from every deck and patio are of the ocean. This is a nice quiet neighborhood close to all of the amenities of Akumal Beach.

Casa Luna is a beautiful home in an excellent setting right on the beach. It is a short walk to half moon bay and also to turtle bay. Our stay there was very relaxing and I would go there again. Loco Gringo staff are also very helpful in making your stay perfect.

Casa Luna is a very special place, and is lovingly and proudly presented by a most delightful staff. The house, casita and grounds are beautifully maintained by Silvia and Luis. Silvia is an astoundingly great cook--the best meal we had for the entire trip was her menu #1--garlic shrimp, avocado soup, chile relleno, lime pie. She is gracious and kind and has a devilish sense of humor, which shines through despite my limited Spanish. Luis is a friendly, smiling, happy sort who is always ready to help. They make the house even more valuable.
The house is sprawling--with lots of decks, terraces, and lots of privacy. We enjoyed nightly sunsets from the west facing terrace attached to the third floor tower wet bar. Traditionally decorated, with lots of painted tiles and local art. Comfy beds, gorgeous bathrooms, nice bedding, immaculately kept up by Silvia during our stay. The neighbors have a very well fed cat, Gucho, who visits the patio at least once a day, and a social, polite and lovable dog, Lolita (great watchdog). As pet lovers, we enjoyed their visits. The villa is perfectly situated between Akumal town and HMB, easy walking to both areas. Great snorkeling just steps away, great restaurants in town, and (for me) world class cavern and cave diving at multiple sites nearby. We are already planning a return trip.

We have stayed at Casa Luna twice and just love it. The location on HMB is perfect - quiet, but close to the main Akumal beach (we always have a rental car though which helps with the snorkel gear). We love that the little convience store and a bar/resturant are right down the block. The house landscaping is wonderful; a private little oasis. Our first stay at Casa Luna was with another family (10 total) and the second was with "extras" (7 total) and the house gives everyone their own space to relax. Only cons are that the oven/stove is hard to light/outdated and microwave did not work. It's not a "luxury" villa, but it's comfortable, clean, has great views and a great price. We'll be back!

Everything about this property was fantastic. We were a group of 3 adult couples -- 6 total people. Every bedroom includes ensuite bathrooms and the layout of the house provides not only for great central areas, but also for fantastic privacy for each bedroom.
Our group was happy spending our time together but it was also nice to be able to spread out across the whole property for relaxation time.
Multiple kitchens (even though we didn't use them) added even more to this privacy.
A fourth couple could have easily stayed in the Casa and there STILL would have been plenty of room!
We really appreciated the A/C in each room and they were modern/quiet units that really cooled things down quickly.
Wifi also worked very well compared to many of the other places that we've been in Mexico.

I was not feeling so well for the trip so would suggest you would get more positive comments from Heather.

the villa was perfect for my group of 2 couples and 1 single. Gave us enough privacy to be apart when desired. Easy walk to Akumal beach. Would have loved to have better ocean view from ground floor/pool, but nice upper deck. Kitchen had everything we needed.
