You can find many beautiful villas in Akumal, but no one will make your stay more enjoyable than at Casa Dos Palmas. And it is not because of the expansive size of the property, its design or the elevated views of the Caribbean. Amazingly enough, people who have stayed at Casa Dos Palmas can’t wait to come back because of its wonderful staff!
Esther and Rigo – two onsite hosts, have a way of making you feel cared for without being intrusive or overwhelming. The delicious aroma of brewed coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice fills the house every morning and waits for you in the kitchen. Chips and home-made salsa magically appear in the afternoon to remind you that it is time to snack. Fresh water for brushing your teeth is always provided in all the bathrooms.
But the best part is definitely Esther’s cooking! Just be warned – if you try it once you might not want to holiday anywhere else. Which is just fine, because Casa Dos Palmas has a myriad of fun and relaxing activities to offer you.
The beachfront property villa is set on an elevated point along the coast line of North Akumal, giving you the opportunity to enjoy the expansive view of the Caribbean. The house was designed so that the living room and 3 out of the 4 bedrooms face the ocean and one opens up onto the Yucatan jungle, glorious sunsets and the pool.
The rooftop deck is another ‘strategic’ stop to admire the panoramic scenery and take amazing pictures of the tropical sunrises.
Casa Dos Palmas is a luxury two-story villa that boasts 4 comfortable bedrooms and 4 ½ bathrooms.
On the ground floor you will find an open-floor living room facing the beach, a fully-equipped kitchen, and a lovely dining area with seating for 8 people and two cozy bedrooms (one with a queen-size bed and one with 2 double beds). Both of the bedrooms come with en-suite bathrooms, built-in sofas for seating and glass sliders that lead to the beach patio.
The second floor of Casa Dos Palmes features a cozy family room, and two bedrooms (one with a queen-size bed and one with 2 double beds) with en-suite bathrooms and private balconies to enjoy the view.
At Casa Dos Palmas you have all of the modern technologies to stay connected with the rest of the world. There is SKY TV, DVD player, stereo and great wi-fi internet connection, which makes surfing on the web or chatting with friends an easy task.
Pamper yourself with a sweet siesta by the pool. The outdoor blue-tiled swimming pool and its built-in Jacuzzi and shaded sun-deck are always a hit among guests of Casa Dos Palmas. It is a perfect place to claim your siesta-time or enjoy your morning coffee and welcome the new day.
Even with its secure, tranquil and serene location, Casa dos Palmas is only five minutes away from the sandy stretch of Akumal beach, famous for snorkeling, scuba diving spots and colorful gift shops. While you are here check out the local Mexican art, try a delicious cocktail in one of the beach bars or book a tour to the Mayan Ruins and learn more about the history and culture of Mexico.

Our stay at Casa Dos Palmas was absolutely terrific.
perfect location for fabulous ocean views and breezes. The staff were wonderful. house was spotless the furniture well made and updated and very large bedrooms with beautiful bathrooms.
pool was excellent but the temperature was unseasonable cold when we were there so did not use it much. would have preferred an ocean side pool but the other attributes of this house more than made up for that.
No reliable safe ocean access for snorkeling except for briefly at slack tide.
best testimonial is this we will definitely be back!!

Casa dos Palmas is the perfect setting for a visit to Akumal. The accommodations are very comfortable, with a great layout of the house. It is really nice to have the pool right out your front door. Esther and Rigo, the caretakers, are delightful. Esther is a wonderful cook. Be sure to take advantage of this and have her cook dinner for you. Casa dos Palmas is within easy walking distance of the village of Akumal. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect for a family with children.
Staff was wonderful.
House kept very clean.
Food cooked by Ester was excellent.
Would add a large ceiling fan to the back outdoor
patio and a drop down one in the living area. Without a/c in living area it gets a little warm during the day.

The house was great. The rooms were very soundproof. Each room has it's own AC. We loved having the pool, got in it every day. It was on back side and shaded which made it very refreshing as we were there in August. We also spent time on the ocean side. The stars were amazing at night.
There were 8 of us staying at the house. My husband and I and our 3 children who are in their 20's and their spouses.
We are all very active. We went snorkeling every day, saw turtles, stingrays, fish, etc. We also went swimming in caves. We were close enough that they could walk and do stuff or eat on their own or we could be together. The house could easily have held more people but we all had our own rooms and bathrooms.
There was construction on a house next door, which was somewhat noisy when you were in the main house, but the bedrooms were basically soundproof.
Very relaxing and private.
The living room and kitchen are not air conditioned but the house is designed so you get great cross breezes.
We loved the fact that we could walk to two different beaches. each less than 1/2 mile. You could not swim at the beach from our house, too rocky and too rough, but it was great. We loved the ambiance. Also, the houses that had the beach were not near the reef where the turtles swim in so we were excited that we were close enought to get to the beach we wanted to access. Our family thought it was the best vacation ever. Will do it again.

Casa Dos Palmas is in a fantastic location about a 3 minute walk to Akumal Bay and 7 minute walk to Halfmoon Bay. The grounds are immaculate with coconut palms(ask Rigo to get one of his prize sweet coconuts for you - great for rum drinks), hibiscus and other native plants. Beach is rocky but there's a nice sand patch to the right where we saw turtles laying eggs a couple of times. The house itself is great for families. Each bedroom has and en suite bath, the living isn't huge but opens up nicely to the patio. Kitchen had everything we needed. There's a tv room but we didn't use it. Spent most of our time on the patio and in the backyard. Lots of shady places to spend the afternoon. Easy walk to everything in Akumal Bay and Halfmoon Bay. Highly recommend staying here.

What wasn't to like .. Gorgeous Villa, fantastic grounds, views you never got tired of, wonderful pool, absolutely the best house staff (Esther & Rigo), 5 minutes to Akumal main beach, short walking distance to several great restaurants, quiet location ... We would definitely go back. ... And, not to forget, great help from Katie at Loco Gringo

All 7 of us were very very happy with the house and the care takers were a added plus we did not expect.

There were five of us and we loved our casa. Ester and Rigo, the caretakers, couldn''t have been nicer or more accommodating. I have been going to Akumal for over 20 years and I have never had a better home cooked Mexican meal than the one served us by Ester and Rigo. Easy walk to Akumal Bay beach, restaurants, bars, shops. Coral instead of sand in front, but great watching waves against the coral.
