Forget about overcrowded beaches and all-night partying tourists! The new trend in beach vacation is shifting towards discovering the diversity of the flora and fauna found in unspoiled regions of the Caribbean! Here the rich cultural heritage of the Mayan civilization meets the colorful underwater world of coral reefs, tropical fish, and sea turtles, and a laid back atmosphere is mixed with local hospitality and impeccable service.
The best part is that you don’t have to go far to find your tropical paradise. Set within one of the Caribbean’s most idyllic sea villages of Akumal, Riviera Maya – Casa del Mar is a perfect getaway for couples and families looking for a relaxing and memorable beach vacation.
This two-level villa is composed of 3 well-furnished bedrooms and tastefully decorated main living areas, accommodating up to 7 guests. Lovely Mexican antiques and thoughtful design touches found throughout the house make you feel at home.
The ground floor level is where the fully-equipped kitchen, living and dining areas are located. The living room and the dining area have a very spacious, breezy feel and the sliding glass doors that open up to the outdoor patio draw your attention to the magnificent scenery of the Caribbean.
One of the bedrooms is also located on the main level. Even if it is called the guest bedroom it features a comfortable king-size bed, an en-suite bathroom and a garden view of the property.
The inviting master bedroom is located on the upper floor, offering a stunning view of the beach and the sea. Just imagine watching the sunrise over the Caribbean Sea without even getting out of your pajamas! Or relaxing in the hammocks, brought by the staff right to your bedroom terrace. Or falling asleep on the comfortable king-size bed, while watching a great movie or your favorite show on the large flat screen TV.
What about the children? They will love the second bedroom on the upper floor level with their own spacious bathroom, one single bed and a double bed. As the windows face the ocean, they will be excited to wake up and spend a few minutes observing colorful fish and sea turtles the Akumal area is named after.
Another great “feature” of Casa del Mar is without a doubt the pool and several outdoor patios furnished with patio furniture, a dining room set and lounge chairs. This is a great spot to savor your breakfast while catching the morning light of the Caribbean sunrise while still in your pajamas, or claiming your siesta time relaxing in one of the spa-like lounge chairs.
Casa del Mar is definitely one of the most tranquil, safe and secluded locations of the Riviera Maya. It almost gives you the sensation of being on your own private island. However, if you find that you are missing the vivid city life, the center of Akumal with its diving and souvenir shops, restaurants, and city center is just a 10-minute walk from the villa.
So you will never get bored. Quite the opposite, actually, you might never want to leave!
Ironically, this is one of the reasons why you should hurry and book Casa del Mar if you like it. Guests who have stayed here can’t wait to come back, making Casa del Mar one of the most highly requested vacation properties of this part of Akumal. Inquire about Casa del Mar and lets see if this location will be perfect for your holiday.

The space was exactly right for our family. Our son loved playing on the beach front porch. Nice short walk to the beach. House staff very friendly.

Casa del Mar is a very nicely appointed villa. I love the Mexican carved wood furniture, the pottery and the original Gail Walker paintings. The master suite with the ocean front terrace is a serene hide away. All of the bedrooms are big and the beds very comfortable. This house has the best satellite television options (lots of movie channels in English!) of any property I have vacationed in. My only complaint is that the design of the house does not maximize its ocean views. Only one bedroom has an ocean view and the living/dining view is interrupted by a dividing wall. I have to mention Mari the housekeeper - she was absolutely wonderful. I almost never saw her, but the house was always kept clean - it was like magic!

Everything was great. We had a great family vacation. Only issue we had, was Wi-Fi never worked, and one of the A/C units would not adjust temp. Other than that perfect. 2nd time staying in this unit.

My husband, adult son and I loved Casa Del Mar. It was a window filled homeonly 200 feet from blue crashing waves. The pictures online represented the home well but the water was even closer than I imagined. The maid, gardener, and property manager were so friendly and helpful! Great stay!

Casa Del Mar was a perfect accommodation for our party of seven (2 couples, 3 kids). Its location is about halfway between our two favorite Akumal spots - the public beach in town and La Buena Vida Restaurant, with each being a quick 5-minute walk away. The two master bedrooms were well appointed (the upstairs master has an incredible ocean view and balcony to enjoy it on!) and the kids loved having their own room & bath, which was roomy and ideal for 3. The kitchen was stocked with all the tools and appliances you could possibly need and we enjoyed cooking a few meals there. The extensive book &movie library, as well as iPod dock & stereo gave us all the comforts of home you don''t often find in a rental. The pool is wonderful in the afternoons - protected from the ocean winds and a great place to cool off after a trek into town to the public beach. And the rooftop deck is a great place to view both the ocean and jungle and get a birds-eye view of Akumal. Our only complaint would be that the wifi service stopped working about halfway through our stay, and we were unable to locate the property manager to address it. But there''s no better place to be "disconnected!"
