A tranquil and relaxed vacation at Riviera Maya calls for the perfect scenery of the Caribbean Sea right on your doorstep. Casa Alux (prounced A-LOOSH) not only offers you a stunning view of the azure water and sun-kissed beach, it also allows you to get a taste of Mayan living with comfort and style.
Casa Alux is not your typical vacation villa. This amazing building consists of two round thatched-roof structures joined together through a large stone patio, a luxurious Ticul marble finish.
First, the patio is intelligently located between two houses. There is always a soft breeze during the day. This makes it a perfect place to hang a hammock, relax and listen as the waves crash the shore. Right off the breezeway you will find a refreshing infinity pool, overlooking the Mexican Caribbean. Through this original shape, its design lets you feel like floating in the clear, blue waters of the Caribbean, without ever leaving your patio.
Second, the circular design of each building and numerous panoramic windows provide a breathtaking view from just about every room in the house. So whether you are dining with friends, relaxing in the airy living room, or enjoying a lazy morning in bed with your beloved one, you will always have this gorgeous backdrop of endless ocean, emerald tropical gardens, and light blue sky.
The main part of the house consists of a spacious living and dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, and a cozy bedroom with a queen-size bed and private bathroom.
If you are a fan of reading, then you will definitely appreciate the extensive library and comfortable couches that the living room offers its guest.
Even such mundane activity as cooking becomes fun at Casa Alux, as the layout of the kitchen, with a raised counter and cushy bar stools, allows you to sip your glass of wine, while chatting with friends as you prepare snacks for your friends and family.
The second house is designed mainly for rest and relaxation. Here, you will have two more stylish bedrooms and a sitting room equipped with a big-screen TV and a large collection of movies. One of the bedrooms offers a comfortable king-sized bed with an in suite private bathroom while the second room provides generous sleeping accommodations with its two single beds, a trundle bed, as well as, a private bathroom.
As you can tell, this amazing house has enough space and style to comfortably host up to 7 people. So if you want to pamper your family or have a few other couples who dream about getting lost in a Mayan Paradise, Casa Alux is one of those rare vacation homes that is will provide you with the comfort, privacy, and security of a luxurious villa, without draining your vacation budget.
Have I also mentioned that Casa Alux is located just a short-walk away from the second largest barrier reef in the world?
What can I say, the dream house, ideal location, and the untouched beauty of the Caribbean – a perfect vacation does not get better than that! Guaranteed! Add this property to your inquiry and start dreaming about your Caribbean vacation.

Relaxing location with beaches, snorkeling (turtles, rays and many kinds of fish), small food shops, and good restaurants within easy walking distance. Within a half hour of heavy duty shopping, ruins, and many nature/amusement parks. Large library to complement practicing your hammock technique. Excellent kitchen facilities.

The house and grounds are beautiful and the view of the ocean is amazing. Our family of 6 found the house to be the perfect size for our group. The 3 bedrooms each had a private bath and the kitchen was well appointed. We had a little rain and cooler weather so the large common area in the main house was a great place for all of us to hang out. You can't swim easily on the beach in front of the home due to the sharp coral but it is a short walk (10 min) to the beautiful town beach. The house is close enough to town to walk if you want to eat out, do a quick shop or just see what is going on.

We had a great week with our adult sons. Everything was just perfect. The ocean at your doorstep; the view and privacy is magnificent. The private oceanbeach was too rough for us but the pool is great, and beautiful sandy beaches are close by (walking distance). Seaturtles and stingrays, laguna, several good restaurants, shops and small supermarkets in walking distance. Very relaxed, low-key and calm area. Very kind and very helpful owner and staff.

We are two parents with three adult children. There was plenty of room to gather together for fun activities, meals, etc. and plenty of room to be alone when necessary. Casa Alux has a wonderful exotic feel to it, a perfect infinity pool disapears into the ocean, great tables indoors and out for family meals, card games, etc. Staff is wonderful. Get to know them. Beautiful grass lawns for yoga and exercize. Lots of privacy. It sits on two full lots so neighbors are far away. Feels like your own magic kingdom.

We were newlyweds enjoying a few days away from our entourage after our destination wedding on Isla Mujeres. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Alux. Easy walking distance to everything including supermarkets, restaurants, scuba shops, great beaches, and best ice cream around. Make sure to try the Dark Chocolate Habanero at Lucy's! Everything is close by but the casa is quiet and relaxed. The staff taking care of the property was fantastic. We were super lazy and mostly hung out by the pool all day with the confidence that should we dare be motivated, adventure was close at hand. We did manage a nice dive offshore from the CEA. Oh... Don't miss the sunrise!

We have just returned from a fabulous vacation at Casa Alux. Our family of six was very comfortable in the house. Our hosts, Terry and Din made us feel very welcome and helped with anything we might need. The house is well located within walking distance to town and to La Buena Vida. We were worried about not having air conditioning, but it wasn't a problem even in May. The back bedrooms were warmer than the front one, but a breeze blew 24-7 and kept things comfortable. Safety was also a concern, but we didn't have any issues. I would caution anyone with very small children due to the layout of the patio. The kitchen is very well equipped. We did find the stores in town more expensive, so making it to the super market was very helpful. The house had many useful touches, like water containers in the bathroom and beach towels. I just don't have any complaints. It is a beautiful location, I would have loved to have a nice sandy beach out front, but then there would have been tons of tourists walking along, so the solitude was a fair trade off! We traveled out of town twice and found that the taxi drivers were willing to be hired for the day. This was very handy and we paid 850 pesos (about $78 for the day to Tulum and $68 for Playa Del Carmen one evening). Overall it made it nice to not have to rent a car, We will certainly be back and recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxed vacation. Thanks again Din and Terry for allowing us to share your paradise!

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Casa Alux last week; it far exceeded our highest expectations. As close as you can be to the sea, bedroom perhaps less than 50 feet from the water, great infinity pool for daytime dips or stargazing at night. Jungle walks, 5 minute walk to Akumal Bay, just very convenient in a very private location. The owners, Din and Terry were very helpful with great advice on cool local spots to try and anything else that we needed. The staff was great as well and helped make our stay one of our best vacations ever.

We stayed at Casa Alux from Feb 16-Mar 2 2014. This place just feels good, it has a very positive vibe to it. The staff are fabulous and very willing to please. they love to visit and learn about you, Candalario maintains a pathway in the jungle leading to a beautiful lagoon and is very eager to take you exploring. Having the owners onsite was comforting and we barely new they were there. Would highly recommend this home and we will be returning!

We love this property. It is in a beautiful location, always tidy and wonderfully decorated. And the recent updates just make it more beautiful. Din is a wonderful host, doing whatever she can to make our stay more enjoyable and hassle-free. We love how close it is to the surf so you can see and hear the waves from your bed. When visiting Akumal, we wouldn't stay anywhere else!

My husband and I stayed at Casa Alux and just loved it. The owner of the property could not have been friendlier and a very generous man with great stories of the area, we felt like old friends by the time we left. The maid and grounds keeper we fell in love with and wanted to take home, very genuine friendly people and we enjoyed their company each morning as well. The house was very peaceful and beautiful and we plan to stay again next year. All the windows in the house make you feel as if you are on the water, it's quite incredible!!! Thank you for everything and we look forward to seeing you next year. Loco Gringo

We absolutely loved this home. It was close to many activities and very comfortable for our family of five. We would certainly return to this location. It offers a peaceful atmosphere with many options for those seeking some adventure. The staff that cleaned and maintained ground (Candi & Candelario) are wonderful, we felt like family while there. Thank you for our best family vacation ever!!!

We had a very pleasant experience in Casa Alux. The house was spacious, the weather was mostly nice and the pool was great considering you could not swim in the sea. The house was in walking distance of shops and restaurants and the public beach and it all felt really safe and comfortable. The staff on the premises was very friendly and welcoming. The house was supplied with ample books and games and overall very comfortable.

Words can''t describe our vacation. Casa Alux was an amazing house! Unique, on the water, a great staff, an awesome owner, Great help from Loco Gringo, a 5 minute walk into the village with great dining options and, of course, Turtle bay! Filling your day with activities such as snorkeling, caving in cenotes, touring Mayan ruins was easy and awesome. And, if doing nothing is on your agenda then you can''t go wrong either! We were seven people from 13-50 and enjoyed ever second. Thanks for the memories and we look forward to coming again to make even more.
Second trip to Casa Alux. We were two couples. Perfect set up for two couples or a family. We are divers. Great place to be located. Close to dive shops and restaurants, etc. But just far enough away to be very quiet. Which is what we like. The accomodations are fantastic. The property is cleaned and maintained daily. You could not ask for a more fastitious beack acommodation. The owners/hosts are extremely the extreme. I was, in part, interested in exploring dental options. Din, an owner was instrumental in connectting me with dental options in the area. I have since followed up. Din went way beyond the call. This is what you can expect. We hit some non-diving weather to start our trip. No problem. We could hang out at the patio/hammocks/pool/beach. Fantastic place. Will be back.
