Casa Alux brings Mayan-inspired living to life with its round palapa-roof design and panoramic ocean views. Featuring three bedrooms, a breezeway patio, and an infinity pool, it’s the perfect retreat for families or friends looking for a memorable Akumal stay.

Inside Your Tropical Home

The villa’s two palapas are joined by a breezy Ticul stone patio. In the main palapa, you’ll find a roomy kitchen, cozy dining area, an open-plan living room with couches and books, and a queen bedroom with private bath. The bedroom in the main building has a gorgeous view of the ocean with a queen bed, full bath, and a privacy partition between the living areas, but it does not close off for complete privacy.  

The second palapa is all about rest, with one king bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and another bedroom with two twin beds and an ensuite bathroom too. The space fits 6 comfortably, with room to stretch out and recharge. AC cools the back bedrooms, while the ocean-facing bedroom and common areas rely on ceiling fans and fresh breezes.

The interiors are simple yet refined, with Ticul marble finishes, wood accents, and airy windows that frame gardens and sea. With daily housekeeping, purified water, and beach towels provided, the villa combines authentic style with modern comforts.

What’s Included in Your Stay

Casa Alux offers daily housekeeping, beach towels, WiFi, linens, and a fully equipped kitchen. A cook and laundry service can be arranged. Guests can enjoy the pool, movie collection, shaded patios, and a hammock-ready courtyard perfect for catching Caribbean breezes.

Guests enjoy full access to the villa, breezeway, infinity pool, and gardens. Parking, purified water, daily housekeeping, and concierge support are included. All bedrooms and living spaces feature air conditioning.

Exploring the Area

North Akumal is walkable, safe, and peaceful. Akumal Bay’s shops, restaurants, and dive centers are just a short stroll south. Guests can rent bikes or golf carts for fun, but for day trips to Tulum, Playa del Carmen, or cenotes, a rental car or driver is recommended.

Located in Akumal Norte’s gated community, you’re a short walk from Yal Ku Lagoon, Half Moon Bay, and Akumal Bay. Hit nearby restaurants, snorkel spots, or the local eco-park on foot. For further adventures—cenotes, ruins, or towns like Tulum—we recommend renting a car or hiring a driver. No pets, and remember not to flush toilet paper due to the septic system.

Just back from a magical family vacation in Akumal. A perfect place to relax. Casa Alux is perfect with a welcoming and helpful staff and was very well and thoughtfully stocked with all necessities and then some. Easy walking into Akumal North for meals, etc. The concierge at Akumal Direct arranged for many extras that added to the experience. A stress-free vacation to a beautiful spot.

We had a wonderful time at Casa Alux. We were there to celebrate Thanksgiving — there were 29 of us spread out in different homes in Akumal. Casa Alux was the best because of the pool location on the ocean! We had a grand time and would definitely consider returning!

The staff comes everyday in the morning to clean and maintain the property. The views of the rugged beach and ocean are unforgettable. The house is walking distance to many shops and restaurants. What a wonderful relaxing property! It was very private, with no traffic or people noise. It was perfect for 2 couples and had everything we needed thanks to Candi. We had plans to do all kinds of tours but the property was too nice to leave. The pool was wonderful thanks to Candalario's maintenance. And Din was so helpful throughout our trip. Would definitely recommend to others!

The layout of this property is great. The breezeway and game table was lovely after a day of pool lounging. The bedrooms were very comfortable, the kitchen very well equipped and the view of the garden and sea spectacular. This is a well tended property with hosts on site and management service quick to answer questions with local knowledge.

The house and grounds are immaculate. Having the private infinity pool was so nice. My grandkids were swimming from the time they woke up until they went to bed. The views of the ocean are amazing. The location is perfect. The owners are on the property and are very helpful. Candy and Candalerio, the house and grounds keepers were so kind. Felt very safe with the private security provided. We will definitely stay there again.

We had a wonderful time at Casa Alux. We were three couples and this set up was perfect. The pool is great and the grounds were very well manicured. It is located in an area of many restaurants within walking distance. The houses were very clean and daily maid service was a bonus. We would definitely love to return.

Casa Alux is a truly magical place in Akumal. It is located directly on the water and so close to town. This is the second time we have had the pleasure of staying in this property and we again had an absolutely wonderful experience.
The hosts are fantastic and the staff are so friendly and helpful. The accommodations are comfortable and beautiful. There is interesting, native artwork everywhere you look, a huge library of books to choose from, excellent wifi, a fully stocked kitchen with an ice-maker and blender, both essential for making icy tropical drinks!
The private infinity pool is perfect, and the view of the ocean is panoramic due to the round nature of the houses.
Lush gardens surround the property and there is an abundance of wildlife, including tropical birds, hermit crabs, and even iguanas that will soon eat hibiscus blossoms from your hands if you are patient enough to befriend them.
What more can I say? Probably a lot more, but rest assured, this vacation property is truly a dream come true in Akumal.
