How do you have a celebrity-like vacation, without taking a private jet and escaping to some deserted tropical island? You go to Riviera Maya, you stay at Hemingway Eco-Resort, and you pamper yourself and your loved ones with an even better vacation than money can buy.
Nestled on the smooth, powder sands of Tulum beach, Hemingway’s eleven bungalows or ‘cabañas’ are among the best in Riviera Maya.
Each cabana is a delightful mix of style and simplicity. Eclectic furniture, a high palapa roof, and tasteful Mexico-inspired accessories create a soothing and romantic atmosphere, which Hemingway himself would have appreciated.
The cabañas are essentially arranged in three tiers: Oceanfront (3 first-row bungalows facing Tulum beach), Sea view (3 bungalows in the next row with a great sea view), and Jungle view (6 beach bungalows facing the tropical garden). The differences are really minor, as all of the bungalows are built right on the snowy-white beach and located a few steps from the turquoise waters of the Caribbean.
In fact, the beach in front of the Hemingway cabañas projects farther out into the sea than it does for the adjacent properties (see aerial view link below). It also stretches for miles to the south, making those romantic beach walks even longer and sweeter.
To let you savor the beauty of Riviera Maya and Tulum Beach to the fullest, each cabaña features a front porch furnished with a couple of chairs and a hammock. It’s a great place to greet the sunset or relax with a good book.
Inside, the bungalows are designed with a spacious private bathroom and different bed configurations to accommodate groups of 2, 3, or 4 people (see details in the amenities section below). While being an eco-resort, Hemingway still generates enough alternative energy to provide electricity for lighting (6 p.m. – 11 p.m.) and low energy consumption electronics for each cabana.
Hemingway’s on-site beach restaurant serves a complimentary continental breakfast to its guests and is opened for lunch and dinner. The philosophy of the restaurant is simple – no pre-made menu, only the freshest products and seafood and only 5 tables to be able to pamper each guest with personalized attention and authentically home-cooked meals.
So what does your dream vacation look and feel like? How about ever-blue skies. The shimmering waters of the Caribbean disappearing into the horizon. A hammock softly swaying in the cooling sea breeze. A mix of salty sea air with a mouth-watering aroma of grilled fish and freshly-baked tortillas. Sounds good?
Then turn this dream into reality and Book your stay at Hemingway Eco-Resort! Remember, with just 11 cabañas and hundreds of people looking forward to spending their vacation in the tropical heaven of Riviera Maya, you have to act quickly!

Lovely little garden spot right on the gorgeous beach in a quiet section of the strip. Rooms of good size and pretty, though you better bring your own reading lights. We had a cabin in the shade with chairs and a hammock on a deep porch, and it was heaven. Staff very pleasant, manager charming. Food excellent Italian fare, though the waiter liked to tell us what to eat and look at you disapporvingly if you don't agree. Had some money stolen from room (was in a shirt pocket)on the last night, so be sure not to carry too much cash. Since the restaurant only takes cash, we recommneded hotel get a safe for guests. I thought the place was expensive at $160 for what you got, but then again, last time I was in Tulum 20 years ago, cabanas were $20 a night!

The Hemingway provided a beautiful honeymoon location for us. The beach is amazing, and had very few people on it, making it very intimate and peaceful for us. The staff was very kind, and the food was definitely the best on the entire strip. (We heard this from others as well!)My only disappointment was just how "rustic" the rooms are. Although, my husband didnt mind it, I was a little uncomfortable with the bugs, etc. we had in our room. Other than that, everything was just perfect.

You can charge your devices at the restaurant without worry.
The beach bungalow close to the restaurant does not get the much needed breeze and the lights from the walk and restaurant are own all night making it very bright in the room.

This was our second time staying at Hemingway and we absolutely love it. It is beautiful, relaxing, close proximity to restaurants and shopping. Can't wait to go back next year!!

This is a motel 6 property at a 4 star price. Our ocean view room was at the top of a long flight of wooden stairs above the kitchen. Small is too big of a word to use in describing the room. There was a stick hanging from the ceiling in the bathroom to put our cloths on!If that was an attempt at shabby chic, it didn't work! The view was a peek over the dinning room roof between palm trees. I'm thinking this may have been staff quarters at some point, certainly not something that would warrant $191.00/night! The food NEVER changed in 2 weeks, the menu is exactly the same--every day and limited choices (2or3). And is twice as expensive as anywhere else- drinks also! It was bizarre. This is a fabulous stretch of beach to enjoy, we will definitely go there again- just never to this resort.

My husband and I have been to Hemingway's twice now, once for our honeymoon and once for our anniversary. Both times have been fabulous!! We love the rustic feeling and the quietness of the cabanas. The staff is always polite and there if you need them. We will definitely be going back. I wish I could visit a few times a year!!!
This place was fantastic!! If you are looking for something low key, romantic and quiet, this is it!! My husband and I spent our honeymoon here and are already making plans to go back. The only reason I wouldn't want people to know about my experience is so I can keep this place all to myself. Cannot wait to go back!!

We have been coming to Hemingways for years, and we have always loved it. Over the years we have seen improvements (Wifi in your room? wow...) but nothing can improve on the location, the beach and the food.

50 dollars and two pairs of earings ( one new silver-amayan souvenirs I bought for my daughter :() were taken from my purse in my room and nothing was done (they put the blame on me for not reporting it right away- the 50 dollars I let go but the earring really pissed me off) , our laundry was not done by our departure time as promised several times, we had to keep promting them

Not bad for the money but saw other propertites that appeared more desirable. Not much shade on this section of beach. Reception staff was great but the restaurant seemed a bit lost. It took me several day to figure out what the deal was with the included breakfast. Found better food and service at other nearby properties. On the other hand, I was in Tulum, and it was beautiful. Not too much room to complain. If requesting 2 beds, make sure to confirm that on the actual reservation.

Welcome to Paradise! Hemingway is well located, well maintained, the view on the ocean is spectacular. if you love nature and apreciate a simple and quiet living, this place is the place to rent.the beds are compfy, the shower always hot, the room clened every day. Great Chef at the restaurant, but the prices are not wriiten on the menu, and happen to be very expensive. But very good! Breakfast included with inimitable mexican cofee with a sweet cinamon taste, good home made bread, unforgettable jams, and eggs. Staff very kind and always ready to help. There was a mistake in our reservation, and they kindly offered us to take the beach front house for one night. Perfect with us! We rented a car and were free to go anywhere we wanted without problems. There is security 24/7, , we felt safe and relax and just enjoyed that spectacular view. I would definitely recommand Hemingway romantic cabanas! Thank 's for everything!

we have stayed in rustic bungalows before and are no stranger to eco tourism however Hemingway''s Cabanas had one of the worst beds I have ever slept on. We stayed in the "Iguana Room" which was a cute little room. It was clean and the beds are made each day, the mattress however was little more than a box spring and us feeling sore and unrested.Breakfast each day is included with your room and is very standard for the region. bread eggs and fruit. We never tried dinner or lunch but every location in Tulum had very edible food... we would expect here was no different. However at 170 per night we feel you could better.
