If your idea of a perfect vacation includes hours of snorkeling, kayaking and just chilling on a gorgeous beach without, possibly, seeing another person for hours, we suggest you consider Casa del Corazon 1.
Hidden amongst lush tropical landscaping, within a stone’s throw of the Soliman Bay beach, Casa del Corazon 1 is an ideal beachfront abode for a family of 6 or 2 couples traveling together.
Just like most beachfront properties in Tulum, Casa del Corazon 1 is eco-friendly. What makes it stand out, though, is that ”eco-friendliness” in no way means making compromises on your comfort.
This great ’casa’ comes with 2 bedrooms, 2 separate bathrooms, a full-functional modern kitchen and comfy living space. Extensive French doors open the living room to a private patio and an elegant outdoor dining area.
To ensure absolute privacy, each of the bedrooms is located on a separate level, so guests can either choose to stay on the first level king-sized bedroom or admire the panoramic ocean views from the rooftop queen-size room.
A short path from the house will take you to the surreally-turquoise waters of the Caribbean and the beach. Just ask for the free snorkeling gear or grab the two kayaks and explore Soliman Bay; an aquatic paradise, created by Mother Nature millions of years ago. Also make sure to check out the nearby cities of Tulum and Akumal. Both are well worth a visit!
Casa del Corazon #1 is part of three bungalow-style beach houses and a one-room bungalow. The other units offered at this property include; Casa del Corazon #2, Casa del Corazon #3 and Zen Palapa. Bigger groups love having all four bungalows at Casas del Corazon and have pool and outdoor grill area exclusively to themselves.

Great vacations there. The place is a paradise so beautiful that you can not believe it. The house is prettier than the posted pictures!! Thanks a lot for a dream vacation!

Casa Corazon is as beautiful as it comes. Corazon #2 is cool and comfortable with just the right amount of folksy Mexican. Tom and Donna are the perfect host and hostess, knowing when to be around and when to let you chill and enjoy the view. The bay is clear and calm and easy to navigate. Chamico's, a laid-back outdoor restaurant within walking distance for lunch, has the best ceviche and fried whole fish I had the pleasure to indulge in. Oh and the beers are cold. You really can't go wrong here.....

Everything was better than I expected except the Internet. It's pretty remote, so they have to use wireless antennas and it's not super reliable. Also, it gets pretty windy there, but I like that.

We had an amazing time! This is our third time at Casa del Corazon and we will return! It was awesome to meet the new owner Tom! Love Soliman Bay!

I believe this was our 12th stay at Casa Corazon. We love it every time we go. It is relaxing and beautiful.

Been to Casa Del Corazon many times and once again it was wonderful. We''ll be back!

We saw pictures and had high expectations but they were exceeded. Tom was great, the property manager and owner, as were the staff!! The facility was perfect for our group of 11 and it was the perfect vacatuion. Used to stay at Akumal Beach resort and on out visit there saw what will keep us away from that resort as I believe it is being over built and will destroy the reef there. This place was perfect, no crowds and amazing in terms as what is offered here.

A wonderful property in a perfect setting. I will rent this house again for a longer period the next time we are in the yucatan, and there will be a next time.

lovely place, two good restaurants close by but need a car. the beach has a lot of weeds but most people dont mind. restful and quiet place away from the scene we saw in tulum beach.
By: Karen Perdue
We had a wonderful relaxing time here. Just the right combination of isolation/beach and close enough to other things to do--such as cenotes, ruins. Tom and Donna are wonderful hosts. The accomodations are very nice and very clean . we would certainly stay here again.

Our third trip to Casa Corazon and it remains our tropical paradise.

Excellent, close to lots of great food, snorkeling in soliman bay + completely relaxing.

Great place to relax and only a short drive to tulum
Casa Corazon is the perfect spot.

This is our 6th trip to Casa del Corazon (Bungalow #3 each time), so we obviously love everything about it. Five of the visits we stayed two weeks, and each time have had a different couple join us. Like us, they all describe Casa del Corazon as Paradise! Geyti & Jose (and now Clementine) are awesome and we enjoy them so much. Tom is so lucky to have them. Geyti's Lemon (Lime) Pie was so tasty! And then there's Tom.......We really enjoyed meeting and spending time with him and appreciated him taking us to Chemuyil to buy fresh chickens and that 29 lbs. pork shoulder that was brined & marinated, dry rubbed and cooked on Tom's Green Egg for 24 hours - it was to die for!
By: Donna Millen
But.... rent a car for sure. Taxis to Tulum are expensive and no collectivos go down that long and very bad dirt road. Without a car, better to stay in Akumal or Tulum for convenience. That said, we still had a blast.

If you are looking to get away from the retail all-inclusive hotels in the area and enjoy the local casual lifestyle, this is the place. I will definitely be going back in the future.

If you want a beautiful beach location away from the crowded resort areas, we highly recommend Casa Corazon in Solimon Bay. It helps to have a car. Friendly owner and family friendly.

Soliman Bay and Casa Corazon is the perfect place if you are looking for a quiet and non-touristy vacation- The snorkeling is amazing just few yards off the beach--(we even saw a turtle) the water was chest high or less in most of the bay- The sunrise is amazing. The property is so beautiful and well cared for. Jose and Heite are amazing hosts/caretakers (as well as Tom, the owner) So if you want nightclubs- free drinks and buffets you might prefer an all-inclusive resorts with thousands of other tourists- If you want a vacation spot close to the ruins and several other adventure spots, and a small town (Tulum) that you can easily drive to in under 30 minutes and then come home to your own quiet paradise, then Casa Corazon is the place for you.

Our vacation in Mexico exceeded all of our expectations. The weather was perfect, the location interesting. Our accommodations added so much to the experience. Beyond being comfortable and clean, they were set in beautiful surroundings. Best of all, the beaches were so close they filled us night and day. Scott was so helpful to us in finding accommodations that fit our needs on rather short notice.

we had a great stay. We were in the third house, the one by the pool, and we absolutely loved it. The house technically had two bedrooms, but one of them was completely open to the dining room. It was perfect for my wife and I, but it would probably seem too small for two couples aor two families. a full family with the parents upstairs and the kids downstairs would also work great!the staff was great, the reef was really nice, the central BBQ was great, you feel far away from everything, but still close enough to drive.definitely walk down the beach past all the houses and get Savichi from the Myan family who serves food out of their house, that was awesome.this place was great, the exact opposite of a cruise or club med, but still comfortable enough that it is nothing like camping.

Beautiful house, beautiful setting right on the beach. Snorkeling, kitesurfing, kayaking on your doorstep, or just chill in the hammocks. The house was perfect was for 2 couples or a family. Tom, the owner, was really friendly and always available to answer any questions. Can''t wait to go back...

We loved our family vacation at Casa del Corazon! Hope to return again. Laid back atmosphere, kayaks and great snorkeling right there. Staff was wonderful.

We were SO very happy to have found this quiet little spot on Soliman Bay. It''s close to Tulum and Akumal and many cenotes if you want go on an adventure, but why would you want to leave this place??. The property is beautiful and private, the bay was magnificent and Tom, Geydi and Jose were gracious hosts who made us feel right at home the minute we arrived. Paths wind through the property and each of the bungalows are separated nicely by tropical gardens. Each bungalow has their own palapa with hammocks and lounge chairs, there were kayaks (single and double) which we used every day to explore or go out to the reef to snorkle (you can swim out too). We stayed in #3 which was very comfortable and we were pleasantly surprised to find shampoo and conditioner and things like bug spray and sunscreen and the kitchen had spices, oil, condiments, tea, and more. The beds were comfortable, and the breezes through the screened windows were heavenly. Geydi cooked a delicious dinner for us a few nights and kept our bungalow clean, she or Jose even did our dishes everyday! We had ordered groceries from a local grocery delivery service so our fridge was stocked when we arrived. Our kids had a great time exploring the mellow bay and loved the three resident weiner dogs. Chamico?s restaurant, a 10-15 walk down the beach had fabulous ceviche. This was the most relaxing vacation we?ve had in a long time. We highly recommend it to anyone who wants to be away from resorts and crowds. We will certainly return!
By: Elise Baril
We stayed for 5 nights in the Zen Palapita and loved it. The property was lovely, the owner Tom is just great, and the room is 'muy romantico'! Totally recommend it.
By: Sara Philpot
I absolutely loved the place. It was not what I expected at all, but was perfect in every way! I can 't wait to go back next year! It beats staying at a resort or hotel hands down!
By: Bill Webner
While we were familiar with Soliman bay, this was the first time we stayed there.Zen Palapa is the perfect place to experience soliman for the first time. After visiting this area of Mexico for 20 years we will definatley add this to our must go back to list. The property was great and the location perfect, just minutes North of Tulum and a short distance from points North. Away from the bustle and crowds.

reserved on line, completed transition easily, website had relative pictures, and received all information needed to get to our rental. thanks

This property is on a bay just South of Xel-Ha and about 15 minutes North of Tulum. There are perhaps 25 homes on the bay and they are close neighbors. During Spring Break it seemed maybe 2/3 were rented. The beach was never crowded and the reef is exceptional, there are several kayaks for your use, plenty of beach chairs and hammocks. Probably the most beautiful beach I''ve ever seen. Sea turtles and rays can be seen very near to shore- bring your snorkeling equipment!3/4 Corazon properties are two story apartments which rent closer to $275/ night but we had the romantic cabana, which was $100/ night. That could be why we didn''t see much of the famous maid/ cook (whose name sounds like "Haiti" but I think is spelled "Geidi"). Many reviews praise her cooking skills but we barely saw her and never were able to have her cook a meal. Two little issues were the insects and the tip. We can handle insects and its totally understandable given the lush jungle surroundings of the Casa del Corazon.Posted in each room, presumably, is a set of notes about the place and beach and such. Included is a "suggested tip amount" for the week of $100 USD and it said if you don''t feel the service deserves that amount then you should talk to the owner. We found that odd, as we were staying 4 nights at $100/ night and didn''t have any cooking...we simply weren''t able to tip that much.Tom, the owner, reminds one of Jimmy Buffett. The southern drawl, the laid-back island contentment to sit and watch the surf. You are in tight quarters and you can hear your neighbors flush their toilets but in the morning all you''ll hear is a lot of loud exotic birds calling. Some neighbors have built very upscale places- it appeared that half of these are Spanish and the other half are American.Overall everyone was very nice and the place was amazing.

Very nice place, great staff. Too bad about the seaweed problem they are having in that part of the world.

Our extended family of 19 (children and grandchildren, from 15-50, and ourselves in our late \'70\'s) rented Casa Corazon (and a nearby property) for Christmas weeks 2012 and 2013. It is ideal for family reunions. There are bedrooms and kitchen facilities in 3 charming/ quirky bungalows (that can be rented separately), The location is fabulous on the beach on Soliman Bay and the property is shaded with trees.. The owner, Tom Del Monaco, who lives on the property, is very friendly, accommodating, and helpful. tom has a good collection of kayaks, snorkling equipment, etc for guests to use. We made arrangements with Geydi, the housekeeper, to cook for our family every evening. She made excellent Mexican food, served and cleaned up. I highly recommend Casa Corazon!!!

We've stayed here a couple of times and the location cannot be beat if you like peace and quiet and, of course, the beach. The owners are great hosts, eager to please yet discretely in the background. Very nice small pool and lush tropical landscaping though the beach and Soliman Bay are the real attraction here.

This review is long overdue. We've stayed at Casa del Corazon twice with a third trip booked already. Soliman Bay is a wonderful oasis and is such a peaceful, quiet bay. Geiti and Jose just add to the brilliance that is Casa del Corazon. You can't go wrong here. Knowing that a return trip is booked already sure does make the leaving easier.

Casa del Corazon is a magical place. It's peaceful and beautiful and staffed with amazing and friendly people. Tom, the newest owner, is a delightful host and Heydi, Jose and all the doggies are still there, keeping things running smoothly. The snorkeling from the beach (or kayak) is amazing. The water's warm and delightful and I came home more relaxed than I've been in years. I cannot wait to go back!

Great value, our hosts and staff added to the location with their knowledge of the area and there suggestions on where to go and what to do.
Snorkeling is good/great from the beach, super from buoys you can anchor your kayak to in the bay. They have kept the feel of the environment & made a truly romantic relaxing getaway. Perfect for us maybe for you as well.

Tom, the new owner, welcomed us, and made our visit fun, and comfortable. We just loved the snorkeling, the beach was quiet, clean, beautiful and serene at Soliman Bay. It reminded us of what the Mayan Riviera was like when we were first was there 35 years ago. We would recommend this beautiful place to everyone and anyone, to enjoy anytime. Thank you Tom for being such a great Host!! Soliman Bay was the absolute HIGHLIGHT of our 6 weeks in the Yucatan!

Just returned from a week at Casa Corazon and we wish we never had to leave! This place is absolutely amazing! Forget about the big resorts that have become so commercialized, touristy, and overexposed. Soliman Bay is set away from all those crowded spots, in an area that is quiet and peaceful. There were times when we sat on the beach, and literally did not see anyone else for hours! The bay itself is protected by a long coral reef, keeping the water calm and perfect for swimming, snorkling, and kayaking. The bungalows of Casa Corazon are embedded in a lush tropical jungle, yet are only steps to the beach. We stayed in #2, and it had everything we could ask for from a full kitchen, very comfy bed, 2 full bathrooms, beautiful decor, and a great view of the ocean. Tom, our host, was awesome. Very laid back, friendly, and helpful; always able to answer any questions we had. Jose does a great job maintaining the grounds, and Heydi kept the bungalow looking perfect. She even came over and cooked an amazing local dish for us one night, to celebrate my wifes birthday, it was delicious! While Soliman Bay feels like its a world away from everything, it is actually very close to many great spots and attractions, just a short drive to Akumal(small ocean front village with a bay known for sea turtles) and Tulum (beatiful setting for Mayan ruins, and a lively area on the beach with shops and dining). If you are looking for a perfect spot in the Mayan Riveria, Casa Corazon is all you will ever want and need. We will definitly be going back soon!

This was our 4th time to Casa Corazon and our 8th trip to Soliman Bay. The Bungalows are very comfy and well kept and the water is wonderful. Tom and the staff are the nicest people and we had many meals together with the other guests. We highly recommend visiting Soliman Bay and staying with Tom at Casa Corazon. Its the best!
I stayed in casa Corazon 1 with my family (Claudia, my wife, and our sons Mathias and Samuel, 10 and 3 respectively, from 8 to 15 July. This was by far our best vacation in many years and I wish to thank Caza Corazon guardian angels Tom and Donna as well as Heidy and Jose for making this paradise possible. Our kids loved it (Samuel learnt to swim! Mathias snorkelled with turtles for the first time in his life, less than stone-throw from Casa Corazon! Claudia and me managed to rest and relax better than ever!). A million thanks for making this magical corner and wonderful house available!!!!

We just returned from our second stay at Casa del Corazon and can't say enough good things about the property, the location and the people. We were part of a large family reunion with 9 of us in Villas 1 and 2, and 8 at one of the big all inclusive resorts nearby. The resort group visited up a couple of times and were pretty jealous I can tell you! I like cooking and eating at local places so this was perfect for us. We saw manta rays and lots of fish in the bay.
By: Monica Herman
They were very accommodating to us and very helpful. Tom, owner, and Gehdi, the housekeeper, were the best, full of helpful info on area, restaurants, info, etc.

We have been to this property 4 times. Always stay in the same Casita near the beach. Great location, close to many amenities. Jose and Heyde are awesome. Always a pleasure to see them and share stories of past visits. It rained almost all of the days we were there which was unusual but a good book made that ok. Tulum is growing and it was great to get back to the peace and quiet at Casa De Corazon. It seemed there were more fish in the bay so snorkeling was awesome. Having juice, milk, eggs and some other basics in the frig made the first morning easy. The coffee maker with coffee is always appreciated. A great place to get away to and escape the rat race...
By: Ken Singer
Stayed for a week with my children and grandchildren. A wonderful place to stay and enjoy the family. Minor quibble was the poor WiFi.
By: Rob Sample
This little hidden gem is owned by an American named Tom. If you want to get away from the Cancun madness, this is the place to find tranquility among the shady palms. This is a self service property. No one will be bringing you drinks on the beach, but you are only 20 steps to your own house and refrigerator. Recommended for families and couples. Three wiener dogs are permanent residencies and are entertaining like 3 funny otters.

This is our fourth time staying at Casa del Corazon, but our first time in #1. The reasons we return are many, but topping the list are: the genuine hospitality of Tom (and now Donna), Geyde and Jose (and, of course, Chilly, Willy and Lluvia). They are exceptional hosts, who feed us, tell us the best locals places to get food, local wares, and great snorkeling -- all while keeping the place spotless and cooking up some of the best Mayan food EVER. If she's not booked solid, make sure to have Geyde cook for you. Guacamole, ceviche, tacos and FLAN! YUMMMY! We also love Bahia Soliman. It is off the beaten path, a little long hair, and just pristine in so many ways. You'll find exceptional snorkeling with an abundance of amazing fish -- we even saw a total of six turtles this time. You really don't need to leave the bay the entire time, but we did venture out to Akumal to visit friends, and into Coba for an exceptional guided tour of the ruins there. I recommend renting a bike and taking your time. Tom just updated the wi-fi, there are plenty of books and games, some great amenities at the place like basic shampoos and soaps, as well as some basics stocked in the kitchen and the bar. We couldn't ask for more, and we look forward to returning time and again. You cannot do better than staying with Tom and Donna at Casa del Corazon. I can't rave enough. Thank you for an amazing, relaxing experience. And thanks for letting us dodge a big snowstorm in the mid-Atlantic of the U.S. while we were there!
By: Greig Broussard
It was the best. The place was awesome and everything was perfect.

Great place, we chose it for the second time and would choose it again! Friendly, competent, and helpful management, wonderful location and beautiful, private house in a tropical garden on a beach. Couldn't ask for anything better :)
By: Cindy Walling
Super easy vacation- no hassles. House is ready and waiting for you. Nice touches include: starter bottle of tequila, wine, coffee beans, eggs and tortillas.
By: Robert Tuck
Enjoyed the stay immensely! Would have been perfect score if the beach were a little nicer! Flip flops or booties needed if you're taking a beach walk...
By: Donna smith
Fantastic! Geydi and Jose take good care of the place and the beach is fantastic. Kayaking out to the reef was wonderful and some coral deposition just past the sea grass in the lagoon provided a nice habitat for the fishes as well. The beach itself was quiet and scenic and it was just a marvelous vacation.
By: Juniper Manley
Our family stayed in Casa de Corazon #1. It was perfect... the moment we walked into the green palm canopy with the bright yellow casitas and sweet ocean breeze, we knew we would leave this oasis only for necessities. The casita was clean, simple, comfortable and felt like home. It was not pretentious, which for Riviera Maya - is just what we wanted. The owner and care takers could not be nicer. The ocean was calm for young kids and the small reefs sprinkled throughout the protected bay was perfect for beginning snorkelers. We even got to swim with a small turtle. The kayaks were a pleasant way to explore up and down the bay. We definitely will be back... next time with friends.
By: Amanda Lane
Came here for a girlfriends' retreat in June. Beautiful piece of paradise, amazing owners and staff. Tom, Donna, Geyti and Jose were all fabulous hosts and I look forward to visiting them again soon. Thanks to all of them for opening their home up to us - we are very grateful!
By: John Wilcox
We have stayed at Casa del Corazon seven or eight times now, so obviously we love it. There have been several upgrades in the last couple of years -- new appliances and so forth. But the things that make Casa del Corazon and Soliman Bay so great cannot be improved upon: the tranquil bay, the beauty of the casita and grounds, the attentiveness and care of the staff (and dachshunds!). For us, arriving at Casa del Corazon is like coming home. It is a wonderful place.
By: Terri Lloyd
Wonderful, relaxing stay at Casa del Corazon. Pleasantly surprised to find shampoo, conditioner, liquid soap, insect repellent, sun screen and caladryl. In addition to coffee, milk, eggs and orange juice there were spices and oil. Geydi is a jewel and we enjoyed talking to her.
By: Patti Klink
This is my 6th time comming to Casa De Corazon, it has always been an incredible stay. The casita is very comfortable and beautiful.Tom, Donna, Heidi and Jose are so special, always make you feel like home. I loved the dogs!!!!
By: Kate Patterson
This is the 5th year I have stayed at Casa del Corazon #1 and it remains a jewel. I like to read, snorkel and cook at home so its just perfect. The owner and staff are there to help if needed and to ensure a delightful stay.
By: Claire Havener
We split our eight day vacation into two separate locations and Casa del Corazon was perfect for us as the second of the two. We felt like we had arrived in paradise, and wished we would have spent more time there. The bungalow #1 was too large for just two people but would have been the perfect size for multiple couples or a family. No matter, we loved having the extra space. Taking the kayak out, tying it up at the buoy, and snorkeling from there was the highlight of our stay. The fish were abundant, the water warm and clear. Tom, the owner was delightful, and Heydi, was friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here on our next trip to this part of the world.
By: Anthony Titolo
Absolutely fantastic! Our 3rd time staying here, 4th in Solimon Bay.
By: Eileen McDonnell
Tom, Donna, Geydi and Jose do a great job with their property. Off the beaten path down a side road was Casa del Corazon, and that was JUST what we were looking for. Very easy to find, just across the main highway from Oscar y Lalos restaurant (can''t miss THEIR sign). Even some of the locals didn''t know where we were talking about when we mentioned Solimon Bay, but it''s right there. The Bungalow (#1) we stayed in was the coolest part of my trip. The decor of the house made it feel like home, but also the local flavor and funk of the artwork made it feel like someone else''s home. Especially enjoyable were the incredible window shutters and screens that let the breezes in and the bugs out. We arrived tired and sunburned one evening, and were pleasantly surprised to find a small care package on the table (and in the fridge). This made us immediately realize that if we weren''t already relaxed, it wasn''t Casa del Corazon''s fault. And of course the seaweed was present, but not overwhelming. But "He" works in mysterious ways sometimes (whomever "He" may be) and youhave to realize that a.) no one ordered this seaweed delivery, b.) they work very hard before you even wake up to get loads of it off the beach, and c.) it''s part of being in Mexico. "Expect the unexpected" are the tiny words just below the eagle and the snake on the Mexico flag. Look it up. On a side note, the policia did not stop us once, even on our way back to the airport in our rental car. All was cool. And again, Cheers to Tom and Geydi and crew for enabling us to unwind and unravel. -Matt in Seattle
