For those who prefer off the grid destinations Balamku Inn is for you. The untamed splendor and adventure of Costa Maya is found here for those seeking peace and tranquility.
It’s private, secluded, romantic and eco-friendly. Balamku is a winning combination where you can enjoy all the modern conveniences and help the environment.
All of the Balamku’s 10 hotel rooms boast a prime beachfront location and come with en-suite bathrooms and private terraces overlooking the Caribbean Sea. The unique, circular layout of each room lets in plenty of natural light. Bold splashes of Guatemalan art create a warm, ‘homey’ atmosphere. Ceiling fans help to keep the space cool.
Many of the services taken for granted elsewhere are a rare find in this off-the-grid part of Costa Maya. Balamku Inn is one of the few hotels offering guests reliable hot water, Wi-Fi internet (small fee), 24-hour electricity and a healthy breakfast. Visitors can enjoy 2 great restaurants just 5-minutes from the hotel.
Modern conveniences, an awesome location, and affordable room rates are not the main reasons to choose Balamku Inn. It’s the awe-inspiring natural beauty of the surroundings coupled with a wide range of fun activities that makes it totally worth the drive to Mahahual.
Where else will you see egrets and pelicans dive for their dinner just off the shore? Where else will you have the opportunity to climb Ancient Mayan ruins without seeing another tourist? Where else can you spend a day fly fishing or exploring Banco Chinchorro – one of the world’s premiere shipwreck diving spots?

I have stayed in mexico hundereds of times and this is far and away my favorite place. Its a little hard to get to so you have to be a little adventuresome but that has something to do with the beauty of the location. If you go ask for places to visit, there are plenty. will set you up with snorkling and jungle tours. I've been 4 times and will go back for sure.
