MexicArte, Akumal

This is one of our favorites! Carfully curated by Nayeli, Mexiarte makes Akumal proud. The ambiance is great, it's a nice place just to hang out :) But if you are looking for something really special to take home, check here first. Nayeli works very hard to bring some the most beautiful and unique folk art of Mexico and the Yucatan to her boutique. Artisan jewelery, ceramics, sculpture, textiles and more. Something in every price range. Each piece special.

Mexicarte is also known as a gallery showcasing original art by Mexican artists. Don't be afraid to ask for information and pricing on any of the pieces displayed in the gallery. Located just beyond the arches to your left, you can't miss it. A must visit for sure!

Mixik, Tulum

Sally Peterson has one of the oldest Folk Art stores on the coast. Her collection of Mexican Folk Art is thoughtfully curated and one of our favorites. When seeking out local artists she thinks about a few things; can this art be easily transported home, does the art reflect a deep history and culture of this country, is the art affordable and is this artist unique. This careful consideration has made her store popular with both locals and visitors.
