Mindful Traveller

Sustainable Travel and Eco Vacations in the Riviera Maya

A Mindful Traveler is an explorer who wants to feel engaged and connected to their vacation destination. There is a burning desire to learn about the culture, history, people and nuances that each vacation place inherently possesses. Searching and finding the true nature of a destination is accomplished by discovering local secrets, traveling off the beaten path, and recognizing serendipitous moments.

Mindful Travelers make it their mission to uncover the nuggets that define a community and country. It is accomplished by being an observant participant, a travel sponge, a social investigator. The delight is when you recognize similarities and treasure the differences.

Mindful traveler’s journey

Discovering local treasures and realities comes from a variety of experiences and explorations, not just one incident. The Mindful Traveler’s journey is a calculated risk, a passion and a desire to search out local food, cultural traditions, architectural designs, artists, unique accommodations and lifestyles. We consider ourselves mindful travelers, people deeply interested in the locations we visit and the natural environments we find. The journey of the Mindful Traveler goes deeper than sustainable tourism and sustainable travel. It is a drive that determines where you visit, where you go and where you play.

Let the destination leave a footprint on you

Our initial visit to the Riviera Maya in 1990 was motivated by cave diving and exploration. This introduction to the environmental and geological diversity found in the Riviera Maya led us to the Costa Maya and Yucatan, important destinations that influenced the development of the Mexican Caribbean coast. The passion has not left us nor has it dwindled. It has continued to grow and deepen as we discover more local secrets, more historical locations and uncover more about the Riviera Maya, Costa Maya and Yucatan.

If you are a Mindful Traveler, join us in our discoveries, enthusiasm, passion and explorations that have kept us in Mexico. Read about our adventures, take advantage of our Loco Adventure Travel Itineraries and share your stories with others. Our hearts have been forever effected by the human, cultural and environmental wealth found here. Let your hearts be effected as well.
