Yucatan Photo of the Day – Vacation destination for new parents

Holbox Island, Yucatan

On our last visit to Isla Holbox, we noticed several couples vacationing with their new bundles of joy.It seemed the island had become a haven for young families to just relax together and revel in the new direction their lives were going. Moms who had just experienced childbirth were resting on beachbeds, and proud, smiling dads were pushing strollers along the sandy streets. I thought, “How wonderful, to begin such an exciting journey on this quiet, peaceful island where nature and the cycle of life are the very focal points.”

Getting to Holbox takes some planning, but it doesn’t have to be difficult. Fly into Cancun and take a private shuttle to the town of Chiquila where you will catch the 20 minute ferry ride to the island. Once you get to the island’s dock, golf carts and baggage handlers are waiting to take you to your hotel.
