They say “Always aim for the Moon, because even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.” If you are looking for the best family vacation, then it makes sense to aim high and choose Villa Moonstar.
Perched on the primary dune in the central part of Soliman Bay, this amazing four-bedroom beachfront villa is a dream vacation home for anyone who appreciates the beauty of Caribbean, privacy and 5-star comfort.
Staying true to its name, Villa Moonstar boasts softly curved lines, an elegant décor and a relaxing ambiance. A large-open floor space is divided between a cozy living area, a formal dining room and a welcoming fully-equipped kitchen. It’s very easy to feel yourself at home here, laughing and chatting with your family members over a savory home-cooked meal, making plans for the next day or just savoring the views of the pool area and the beach.
Large glass sliders open up from the living and dining area to refreshing sea breezes and invite you to spend some time outdoors.
Especially since the large, shady pool patio seems as if it has been designed around the concepts of utter enjoyment and relaxation. An outdoor dining area is perfect for enjoying your morning cup of coffee and greeting the sunrise. A built-in grill next to the pool inspires you to organize a cook-out party by the pool and drive the neighbors crazy with mouth-watering aromas of sizzling meat and honey-grilled shrimp.
While numerous sun lounges and a beach palapa give you an opportunity to relax with a bottle of chilled “cerveza” and admire the aqua-blue waters of Soliman Bay.
It’s also a pleasant surprise to discover that all four of the villa’s bedrooms feature the same stunning Caribbean views. The downstairs bedroom boasts an extra-large king-size bed and will appeal to those, who like the idea of having a full entertainment center, including plasma TV, all to themselves. The two second floor king-size bedrooms come with spacious en-suite bathrooms and private access to a large furnished ocean terrace.
An exterior stairway goes up to the beautiful palapa-topped rooftop Master Bedroom. This is probably the most romantic room, featuring a private furnished deck and elevated views of the Caribbean on one side and lush tropical Jungle on the other.
Looking out on the turquoise reef of Soliman Bay and light blue sea beyond will make you wish you lived here year-round and faced only with decisions like “should I snorkel out to the reef, kayak or just lie around by the pool?”
But right now you just have to make one decision that counts the most – to book the amazing beachfront Villa Moonstar and embrace an exciting vacation in Riviera Maya!

House, location and service was impeccable.
Pool needed cleaning, until filter changed, pool was clear to swim.
Caretakers to house next to Villa Moon Star were noisy a few times. Villa Iguana.
Played radio too loud, had to ask that music be turned down.
Also, Christmas eve Day, caretakers of Villa Iguana were fishing on beach at Villa Iguana, children playing, etc.

The Villa is wonderful. This was our honeymoon and we could not have asked for anything more romantic than this. The views from each room were great. It was an extremely relaxing honeymoon villa. Each room was very well decorated and comfortable. The sunrise from the 3rd floor bedroom was amazing. Highly recommend this villa. Needless to say we were very pleased with all the accommodations. The beach was just outside your door, along with your pool, but you still had your privacy. Excellent setup.
The most gorgeous sight of this trip was my beautiful wife.
You will need to rent a vehicle if you are wanting to see the countryside or try different restaurants. There is one restaurant within walking distance along the beach that was very good.

Villa Moon Star is much lovlier in reality than it shows online. The grounds, both front and back, are lush and clean. It's on a good, sandy area of beach, in the middle area of the bay. The house itself is amazingly decorated and each room is large and comfy. The view from the top palapa bedroom is amazing. The kitchen has everything you need and more. Jose, the caretaker was wonderful and helpful, and the house and bedrooms were cleaned daily by Amelia. We were a group of 8 adults, and we were all very well accomodated. The only downfall is that the neighbouring properies are close, so we did have a complaint about noise (our noise). Otherwise, this home is a peaceful, beautiful oasis, and excellent value for your money.

The Villa was absolutely gorgeous. The pictures just do not do it justice. Ideal location right on the beach, perfect pool. We went with 3 other couples and everyone just raved about the villa and the location. It has everything that you need in the villa, great sound system with speakers throughout the house on every level. The kitchen was completely equipped with cookware, dinnerware, glassware, every spice you could think of. Every bedroom had sliding glass doors that open to the ocean. Family room had complete sliding glass doors to enjoy the wonderful breeze throughout the first floor.
The only slightly negative comment regarding the beach was that a significant amount of seaweed mounded up on the beach in front of the villa every day and collected all the trash that washed upon the shore. So sad that people throw their garbage on the beach! Not sure how much can really be done about that though other than raking it up everyday.

Our group of two families spent a week at this rental. We had a great time. The house and beds were comfortable. Some constructive criticism: The kitchen is well equipped but could use better lighting. Its quite dark, esp. at night. The pool is quite chilly with little solar heating as it is shaded so be prepared! The driveway/ garage area was full of a pile of stones so we couldn't use it. The internet card the house runs on ran out the first day and took a while to fix- the owners should anticipate this and prepare accordingly. The maid service was morning only- 9 to 12. We were hoping to get more help with the dishes :) The beach initially was full of seagrass and some trash. The staff should keep more on top of this. Lastly, there is a motorboat parked right in front of the beach obscuring the view of the ocean.

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Moon Star. The grounds and house were fantastic. The kitchen was so well equipped with spices and every pot, pan, utensil and kitchen gadget you could think of. The are only two things I would change: Although the top most bedroom is wonderful, it is not Air Conditioned - this may not be a problem for some people but we were there in July so it was HOT. Secondly there are only two kayaks, this house sleeps 8 so if you all want to go out at once this is an issue. The existing kayak need a little repair work to the fasteners for the cushions, they can't be attached which makes for an uncomfortable trip if you're going far. We felt very lucky to be allowed to enjoy this beautiful home and can't wait to go back.

The Villa Moon Star was absolutely amazing! The house was immaculate with plenty of room to relax or get together with the group. The best part of the house is the living room that opens up to the beach.

We had 7 family members over 3 generations staying at the Villa during March 20-30. We opted for an airport pick up arranged by Loco Gringo, which was very convenient, but if you rented a car it is just one highway so not difficult at all. We chose to have Jose and Amelia make us dinner the first night and we arrived to the smell of shrmip and chicken fajitas, along with 3 sides. We highly recommend having them cook for you, their guacamole and salsa are incredible and very reasonable.
The bedrooms are all spacious, clean and comfortable. The AC was a blessing with the humidity but the upper bedroom with no AC was fine with the breeze. This house is RIGHT ON THE BEACH, you literally walk out and go snorkelling right in front of the house. Great coral, fish and our neighbour saw a turtle. The palapa at the beach was heaven when we wanted to get out of the sun (wifi even works out there!)and the kayaks are a great bonus.
We used a contact from Loco Gringo to pre-stock the Villa with food and drinks but the drive to Tulum is only 15 minutes if you need anything.
We ate at Sahara restaurant down the beach, it was fantastic. Also try Chamicos down the beach (closes at 5, cash only, but very good) and Oscar Y Lalos across the road. Watch out for the spider monkey he will jump right on your table!
The pool at the villa is in the shade and not heated so a little chilly but refreshing to wash off salt from the ocean.
Overall we highly recommend this Villa, so much that we are coming back next year!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at the Moon Star. We have been on Soliman Bay before and have always enjoyed ourselves. Our hosts Jose, Amelia, and family made us feel welcome and were always friendly and helpful. We are looking forward to returning.
