Villa Leona

Soliman Bay, Soliman Bay, Mexico

  • Safari-Inspired Beach House in Soliman Bay

Villa Leona or “House of the Lioness” is an amazing property that unites the best of two worlds: the ‘adventurous feel’ of an African safari and the tropical paradise of the Caribbean.

Nestled amongst tropical flowers, palm trees and the beautiful white-sand beach of Soliman Bay, Villa Leona offers an unforgettable getaway for a couple or a close family.

The moment you step inside the house, you will love the exotic and almost mystical atmosphere created by zebra and leopard print carpets, the high palapa roof, the beautiful hand-made leather and wood furniture and the original artwork brought by the owners from their trips to Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa.

An airy living room, a cozy dining area and a charming fully-equipped kitchen create a large living space that lets the sea breezes flow freely through the rooms. While ceiling fans keep the house pleasantly cool even during the warmer months.

Dinner outside anyone? Beach walk anyone?

Expansive sliding doors lead onto a shaded beach side patio and an outdoor dining area, perfect for intimate family dinners and cheerful conversations over a plate of freshly made guacamole. And to remind you that you are actually in Mexico, there is a lovely cactus garden located nearby.

A short path leads you from the patio to a glorious white beach and a private beach palapa with two hammocks for those relaxing siesta hours.

For more substantial naps you can head back to the house. There is a lovely queen-size bedroom on the main floor of the house with a private bathroom right next to it. However, if you are in the mood for a more ‘adventurous’ safari experience, take the mahogany ladder to the large second level loft.

Furnished with a king-size bed, a nice upper living area and a half bath, it guarantees that you will be comfortable here. What’s more the architects of Villa Leona decided to use candle light instead of traditional lighting for this level of the villa. It really transforms the space at night time, adding a romantic glow to the room and making it impossible not to fall under the spell of safari magic.

Note, if you are travelling with a bigger group, there is additional sleeping provided by three futon couches (one queen-sized on the loft level, plus a queen and a single-sized futon in the living room).

It’s also worth mentioning that while Villa Leona takes its inspiration from safari trips, it has all of the modern conveniences, including a Satellite TV, DVD player and Wi-fi internet. And let’s not forget about the fun activities awaiting you just outside, including swimming, snorkeling, kayaking or just relaxing with a good book.

You know that you have been working hard and that you deserve to spend time with people that you love. So why not make this vacation special by staying at Villa Leona and exploring the Caribbean paradise called ‘Soliman Bay’.
