Italians like no one else know the secret to the “dolce vita”, which is good company, great food and plenty of rest.
And this is exactly what you will find at Casa Gray! Starting from the prime location right in the middle of the wide Aventuras Akumal beach and ending with a myriad of relaxing, exciting and adventurous activities to choose from.
This great 3-bedroom beach house is just the right size for a great family vacation.
Inside, a charming living room, a sunken dining area and a fully-equipped kitchen create one large open-floor living space, allowing everyone to hang out together without the house feeling overcrowded.
Expansive windows open Casa Gray to the postcard views of the Caribbean and gentle ocean breezes. While glass sliding doors lead from the living room to a shaded beachside patio and the softest white-sand beach, fringed with slender palm trees gently swaying in the wind.
The beach patio is furnished with another outdoor dining table, which will probably become your favorite place for light mid-day snacks and chilled ‘cervezas’. Or just lounge by the recently added infinity swimming pool with swim up bar. And in the evening, you can take advantage of a charcoal grill available to guests of the house and organize a family cookout, letting the mouth-watering aromas of juicy sizzling meat and buttery shrimps fill the air.
Farther down, closer to the sea, you will find a private tanning area with lounge chairs and a couple of hammocks facing the sparkling turquoise waters of Aventuras Akumal. Just imagine what it would be like to relax out there with a good book and pamper your skin with the glorious Caribbean sun.
And during hot siesta hours, you can actually follow a good old Mayan tradition and take a nap in your private air-conditioned bedroom.
Out of the three bedrooms of the house, the king-size Master bedroom is located on the beach level, while the two queen-size upstairs bedrooms make the maximum out of the elevated views of Aventuras Akumal. In addition to the queen-size bed, one of the upstairs bedrooms also has a single bed, making it a perfect choice for a family traveling with children.
All of the bedrooms come with beautiful en-suite bathrooms and have private access to the beach patio or an ocean side balcony. A recent addition to Casa Gray is a guest house with 2 bedrooms, added May 2015.
If you are looking for a relaxing beach vacation with great snorkeling and kayaking right from your patio, then Casa Gray will keep you busy during your stay. However, make sure to leave some time for sightseeing, tours and shopping, because Tulum Pueblo and the famous Tulum ruins are just 25 minutes drive south from the beach house. While Central Akumal, located north of Aventuras Akumal beach, offers plenty of dining and shopping options.
They may call it the “dolce vita” in Italy, but here it is called a “Dream Vacation Riviera Maya Style”. Add this property to your inquiry Right Now and check it out for yourself!

We rented Villa Italiano for a family vacation (5 adults and two kids, ages 7 and 9). The Villa is perfect for a family vacation. There is excellent snorkeling right out the back door. The Villa is centrally located for adventures such as Chichen Itza, Coba, Tulum, eco-parks such as Xel-Ha, and amazing snorkeling in Akumal Bay and Yal Ku. The description on LocoGringo is accurate (pictures and text). We highly recommend this property - it exceeded our expectations in every way.

We stayed at Villa Italiano on 5/25/12 - 6/3/12 and it was AMAZING! The house is right on the beach, literally 10 seconds from the back door to the water. We have 2 kids and we really maximized our beach time because we didn't have to lug "stuff" from the hotel to the beach and back. If we had 20 minutes to kill until dinner was ready, just head out to the beach. It was truly awesome. We went snorkeling from the house, there are great reefs right there. I saw squid, barracuda, tons of coral, and countless breeds of fish. We used the properties sea kayak as well and paddled all over. We rented a car in Cancun and used that to head over to Akumal and Tulum, and one trip up to Playa Del Carmen for groceries. House had everything we needed, the AC in the bedrooms was great too. The rest of the house stayed cool with the windows open and the sea breeze coming in. We were also there during the turtle egg laying season and got to see a Mama Loggerhead laying her eggs one night. We managed to find a Tortugera (a local turtle guide/scientist)who guided us with this, so we didn't harm or scare the turtle. Our kids LOVED it (6 and 8 year old).

That was our 2nd time at Villa Italiano. No major change to the beach in Akumal evn if there has been huge development in Riviera Maya over the last 5 years. The Villa is good value and functional for a party of 5-6.

We would probably return here again but would request a later start time for Anna and Pedro.
We would know better what food to bring/buy so we did not have to drive to restaurants each night.

Enjoyed our week at Villa Italiano very much. It was nice after a day of snorkeling/scuba diving in Akumal to go back and relax at the house. Property manager Ruth was excellent and gave us a local phone to use for emergencies or for contacting her with questions. Property was very clean and private beach was awesome though waves are a little aggressive at Aventuras Akumal for snorkeling. If there was a downside it's that the cleaning lady, while very nice, comes every day at 9 AM to clean the house so you can't sleep in much past 9. All the more reason to get up and enjoy the day!! When going back to the Akumal area we would definitely look to rent Villa Italiano again as for the money you simply cannot beat the value.

We spent a week at Villa Italiano and enjoyed our stay despite the rainy weather. The property manager was very helpful and the location is great. The villa could use some updating, including new cookware. We were told that the low water pressure was because it flowed primarily based on gravity. If you are looking for a reasonably priced property and don't require the latest and the greatest you will find the villa comfortable.

We have stayed many places in akumal but this house was truly amazing. It had everything you could need. No problems what so ever. Very private . The master bedroom could use a little updating but that's it. Will return, most definetly ....

We stayed for a week in Oct 2013. Quiet area during off season, fabulous beach, house is super clean and nice location. We will stay here again even though there is not a pool. On site property manager, American, very welcoming and hospitable.

Booking was easy through Locogringo. Questions answered promptly. The road into Akumal Aventuras is rough, so take your time and try to avoid the biggest holes. The area is quiet, neighbours friendly and there is a great beach bar for food and drinks about twenty yards south of the house. The house is exactly as it appears in the photos, beach has very soft sand, coarser sand is found further north and south of the bay.The house was clean, well maintained and even though the neighbours were right next to us we really never heard them.Ana and Pedro, house staff, we great. I am not big on having staff in a rental and so we would leave when they showed up. But they did their jobs and left the house and grounds looking nice ever day.The location made it very easy to enjoy the area. Tulum, Coba, PLaya del Carmen and many cenotes are found easily. TThere are about 7 grocery stores within a fifteen minute drive. I would recommend the villa to anyone who want s quiet family holiday away from the madness and lounger guarding mentality of the resorts.
