True to its name which in English means “tranquility,” Casa Tranquilidad provides you with privacy, comfort and safety that are the essence of any vacation (especially if you are travelling with children).
As soon as you pass through the wooden gate that separates Casa Tranquilidad from the rest of the world, and park your car in the shade or an arbor, you will probably spend a few minutes admiring this cream-colored building with its large arched windows, beautiful turquoise details and tropical gardens.
The house itself looks like a little gem taken from the distant shores of Greece and lovingly placed in an intimate courtyard garden of the Yal ku Lagoon and Half Moon Bay in North Akumal.
The interior design of the beach house is just as refreshing, relaxing and marvelously serene as its exterior. The property is cleverly designed to make you feel as if you are both indoors and outdoors at once.
Both dining area and living room create a unified main living space and sliding glass doors opening on to a spacious lounging patio and a mass of colorful plants.
The two spacious bedrooms situated close to the living room have a powerful pull for relaxing evenings and lazy afternoon naps. The first bedroom has a king-size bed, a private bathroom with a rustic flare, TV, its own individually controlled air conditioner and big windows that let in lots of natural light. The second bedroom offers the same “luxuries” as the first one with the exception of a smaller double bed, which makes it a perfect option for romantic couples that love to snuggle up to each other.
A comfortable, well-furnished kitchen is made even bigger with the high-rise counter – an ideal nook for breakfasts and intimate dinners.
If you are travelling with kids, they will be absolutely thrilled by the pool patio and splash pools. While they are laughing, playing and splashing around, you can ‘strategically’ position yourself on one of the padded chaise lounges to finally catch up on your reading or working on that glorious Caribbean tan.
And in the evening, you could grab your picnic basket, take the stairs up to the stylish rooftop deck and together watch as the sun slowly disappears into the lush Yucatan jungle.
To top it all, staying at Casa Tranquilidad is the most budget-friendly vacation – ever!
When combined with Casitas Tranqulidad (2 one-bedroom apartments facing the street on the same property) it provides accommodation for as many as 8 people, so no one has to give up their right to enjoy this tropical paradise.
Book your stay at Casa Tranqulidad and rest assured that your family and friends will thank you for it!

This is my last night to stay at Casa Tranquilidad and I am sad to leave. Casa Tranquilidad has become our home away from home! Our beds are comfortable, the garden is a delight and any time we need assistance, Pablo is available. Mary Henderson has been so very helpful to us every step of the way. We have traveled in Mexico frequently and have truly enjoyed our stay here. We often have hopped from one city to another but this time we have extended our stay here for the whole trip because it has been so very relaxing and beautiful. If you are looking for relaxation, a place to cook your own meals or eat out, snorkeling reef or lagoon and having a quiet oasis to return to, this is your place to stay. Four people can stay comfortably in Casa Tranquilidad . If you have a larger party, you could also rent the casitas in front of Casa Tranquilidad. Oh, and please remember to take a few trips to the rooftop for sunrises and sunsets. Just lovely!!

A very nice property in a very nice setting a little off the beaten track but that's what we like. The only draw back is the driving distance so you really need a car. But I would stay there again.
A comfortable and attractive house, with a private courtyard full of flowers, birds and resident iquanas. The owner is outgoing and helpful. A great spot for a couple or small family.

We were greeted upon arrival by the owner and immediately felt her warmth and care for her guests. We were shown around the whole property and felt as though we were moving into our own home! The rooms are all a good size and comfortable. And, there is everything you could need in the house. One day when it was raining we jokingly said that we may need to play cards or games and challenged ourselves to find some cards...sure enough there was even a deck of cards and chips for poker! That was how we felt with everything in Casa Tranquilidad, the thought behind making the guest feel comfortable and at home.
The splash pool makes up for the property not being on the beach and is a refreshing touch to the property. It is small and shallow so it's great to cool off but not for swimming. Also the grounds are private and lovely with tropical plants to make it feel like a special haven.
The owner is very concerned for your comfort and helped with any questions we had. Her house keeper and "man that does everything" were fantastic and we wanted to take them home with us!
We liked Casa Tranquilidad so much that we booked our next trip while we were still there so that we would be sure to be able to stay there!

This is our 3rd year staying in Tranquilidad so it definitely meets our wants and needs. The patio/garden is lovely for morning coffee and evening cocktails. The house is well-maintained and clean. We feel very at home here. It is great being within walking distance of the lagoon and wonderful restaurants.

We had a wonderful stay at Casa Tranquilidad. Mary and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. The only thing that I would recommend is that we not advertise it as having a pool. The pool is only 2 ft deep and is too small and too chlorinated for swimming. It is lovely for ambiance only. Thank you

Akumal and Casa Tranquilidad are both places that we can relax and enjoy the natural beauty of our location. Mary and her staff take excellent care of us and welcome us in like family. We love our coffee every morning in the beautiful garden and sunsets on the rooftop deck. Thank you LG for helping us find Tranquilidad four years ago!

This was our first time renting a villa and during New Years...we liked the freedom that comes with renting, although it takes some planning for each day. we have stayed at ABR when in Mexico and enjoy its simple and clean enviroment but is usually booked up so we decided to rent. we found Casa Tranquilidad to be very spacious (we were on the main floorof the back building) perhaps to spacious for two people but who is complaining...nice grounds and very quiet...we enjoyed that alot we didnt even watch the tv at all...just enjoyed our suroundings.. we would definatley rent fromm Mary again!

Our stay at Casa Tranquilidad was wonderful. The garden with the wading pool and fountain was our favorite spot. Everything was clean and well kept. We certainly can recommend this place, especially because it is also so close to the fresh water lagoon.

We loved our little home away from home! Quiet, comfortable and affordable! We enjoyed heading up to the rooftop for sunrises and sunsets, were able to cook many meals in our kitchen and had the comforts of private bedrooms and baths. Nice to have bikes to take to the pueblo to buy our provisions! Meals outside in the garden were just wonderful! We just didn't want to leave!

Gorgeous garden complete with tiny pool, waterfall, and resident iguanas. Very comfortable, and clean but could use some updating in bathrooms and kitchen. Wonderful and responsive staff. The only downside was a few days where the Internet went out.

We spent 3 nights at the Casa and really enjoyed our time there. Pablo greeted us upon arrival and helped us settle. We were a party of 5 , 2 adults, 2 college aged adults and a younger son. Mary gave us some valuable restaurant and local attraction information. The backyard gardens are very pretty and relaxing. The rooftop deck is a very cool place to hang out for coffee in the morning and cocktails at night. Overall a wonderful stay.
