Drenched with sun and Caribbean breezes Casa Sombras del Viento represents everything you may be looking for in a dream vacation. Nestled on the white sandy beach of Soliman Bay and surrounded by palm trees, it offers a private and exclusive getaway for groups of 7 to 15 people.
When you first see Casa Sombras del Viento (which means “Shadows of the Wind”) you will understand why this name fits it perfectly. The open feel of the house with its numerous terraces and large outdoor spaces lets the refreshing ocean breezes flow freely through the villa. Inside, a fusion of contemporary comfort with exotic woods, granites, and local stones will remind you of distant and fascinating travels.
This 7 bedroom, 7 bathroom villa has been built with two main concepts in mind – flexibility and privacy.
In fact, Casa Sombras del Viento is divided into 3 independent units that can either be rented together or separately, saving you money even if you are not travelling with a large group of people.
It’s not a coincidence that each condo of Casa Sombras del Viento carries the name of a unique Mediterranean wind blowing over the coasts of Italy and France.
Bora is a quaint apartment that is perfect for a couple looking for a romantic getaway. This apartment has a living room, kitchen and bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. The king size bed is a lovely addition but the large terrace overlooking Soliman Bay is what makes this space special.
Sirocco is a 2-bedroom condo that house up to 5 people. It features a living room, full kitchen and 2 bedrooms. One bedroom has a king-size bedroom and great sea views, with the second bedroom having a queen-size bed and a single bed.
Mistral is the largest condo with great sea views. This condo uses the entire third floor to house up to 8 people. Enjoy a large living room, one indoor dining area and one outdoor dining area, a full kitchen and a games area with a billiards table. The palapa roof emphasizes the Caribbean feel to this top floor condo with additional bright colors and great views of the Soliman Bay making you feel you are on vacation. There are 4 bedrooms in this unit, all with en-suite bathrooms.
Outdoors you will find a large swimming pool with a small wading area for small children and poolside lounge chairs for parents. The beach area has more lounging opportunities with hammocks, beach chairs and three palapas that will shade you from the midday sun. With views like this from your beach chair, you will not want to go inside!

Apologies for the delayed review but spare time is at a premium in our non-stop hectic life in the UK, a far cry from the lazy relaxed days spent at Sombras del Viento! After 10 days of travelling around the Yucatan I don't think we could have ended up anywhere better to finish off our Mexican holiday. The villa, gardens and beachfront are amazing and excellently maintained and even though we only stayed in the smallest apartment (Bora) we had the whole place to ourselves. Bora apartment is furnished and equipped to a very high standard and had everything we needed for our stay, although it was difficult to spend much time indoors with the lovely pool and beach literally on the doorstep. In the garden there are hammocks and shady palms plus all manor of equipment to make sure you're able to get out in the calm bay and enjoy the reef. Using the kayaks to get out to the best bits of reef further out in the bay (a bouy provides a mooring point) was great with a suprising number of fish, including a barracuda and rays, colourful corals, octopus and even a turtle seen during our mini-excursions. The pelicans provided much entertainment as they fished just off shore and there was good variety of birdlife all around the bay, especially pools at the northern end. It really was an excellent end to our holiday and 3 nights were not enough! Thanks to Loic for letting out a wonderful villa and providing us with all the pre-stay info we needed. Recommended to all friends and family when we returned home and if at all possible we'll be back! Cheers Steve and Lucy
