Sweet Vacation House Rental with a Rooftop Bedroom Overlooking the Caribbean

What could be ideal for a great vacation than being on a beautiful tropical beach like Soliman Bay, in a romantic house rental, and all you have to do is chill, or walk out on the sand, slap on some sunscreen, tan a bit, and do a little snorkeling and kayaking? With three air-conditioned bedrooms and an air-conditioned living room, this beach villa is comfortable any time of year.  There is a fourth bedroom in a separate guest house, when you need a little more space.

The lower level Casa Palmeras is an open concept. The beachside patio is fully furnished, shady, and an outdoor grilling area is among the coconut palms for cookouts. Inside, the house’s main living space has an L shaped couch, a large coffee table surrounded by several chairs. Across from the living room is a dining area that seats six. Just behind it is a raised breakfast counter that separates the dining room from the fully equipped kitchen.

On the second level are two bedrooms, one with a king size bed and the other with two queens. Both have a private bathroom and access to a furnished upper-level terrace that looks toward the beach.

Up a flight of stairs is the rooftop bedroom suite, very private, and it has a great panoramic view. This suite has a king size bed, sitting area, ocean view and a jungle side private terrace for the sunset. This is a lovely private bedroom, rather romantic with a palapa roof overhead, AC, and private bathroom.

Outdoors Find More Great Vacation Amenities

The swimming pool is on the beach side of the house and has a shaded patio with dining table and chairs, and a wooden deck with chaise lounges and other furnishings. A little closer to the beach is a built-in grill.

For beachside comforts, there are chaise lounges, two palapas for shade umbrella, sea kayaks, and general bliss on Soliman Bay. Inquire about this beachfront vacation house rental that sleeps up to 10 people!

The house and beach are absolutely beautiful but what really puts this property over the top is the wonderful hard working caretakers Elizabeth and Noe. They keep the property in spotless condition all while being very unobtrusive. They cooked dinner for us four out of the seven nights, which was a delicious treat and well worth the reasonable cost. Our favorite dishes were the empanadas, whole grilled fish, grilled steak and garlic butter shrimp. Thank you so much for everything and we hope to return in the future.

I really loved this property! The home was very clean and stayed clean throughout our stay, thanks to the wonderful caretakers. The beach is beautiful, our kids loved kayaking everyday. They found amazing seashells. My favorite thing about this house is the grounds. There’s beautiful palm trees and tropical plants everywhere. We are planning to return next year!

Our time at Casa Palmeras was one of the best vacations I've ever had. The location was superb - the house is on a bay with calm water, and a reef for snorkelling. We were a party of 8, 5 of whom were kids, and they swam in the ocean all the time.

The house was well appointed and comfortable. Our hosts, Noe and Elizabeth, were kind and attentive, and looked after us.

Beds were comfortable, and the kayaks on the beach were a great addition - we used them all the time!

While we were there a Mama Sea Turtle laid her eggs on our beech, which was very cool for our kids to experience.

I am already planning our next trip there!

Normally the beach, the house, even the location would be the highlight Iliff any trip. Yes, the beach was amazing, the house was nice(beds are horribly uncomfortable) and the location was gorgeous! But out highlight was Noe and Elizabeth. Amazing caretakers. The property was in pristine condition and Elizabeth's cooking was delcicous. Often times people get over looked because it's so routine but they went above and beyond daily. Great vacation and my family would love to go back sooner then later.

Our family of 10 came from the U.S. and wanted to enjoy as much time as possible on the beach. This house is part of a community of beachfront properties, had lots of indoor space and rooms, and a sprawling back section that unfolded onto the ocean. The house also had staff that stayed on the property.

Our two families had a wonderful time at Casa Palmeras. The accomodations were spacious, clean, and comfortable. We spent lots of time in the pool and lounging on the decks. Noe and Lis take great care of the place, and their meals are better than anything you'll get at a restaurant! The only issue with our stay was totally out of everyone's control: sargassum prevented us from snorkeling and kayaking as much as we would have liked. Still a lovely stay, and we would definitely return!

If you're looking for a relaxing beach getaway in Mexico, I highly recommend staying at this lovely vacation rental. The accommodations were clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The caretakers, Noe and Elizabeth were friendly and attentive, ensuring that our needs were met throughout the duration of our trip. Let them cook and food shop for you. There is a cost associated with this service, but well worth it!

The location was perfect for those seeking some peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The sargassum came early this year but Noe was on top of keeping the beach as clear as possible.

Overall, our experience at Casa Palmeras was truly unforgettable, and we would definitely stay at this vacation rental again in the future. If you're looking for a peaceful, relaxing vacation with clean accommodations and lovely caretakers, this is the perfect spot for you!

The accommodations were as expected or better and suited our crew (3 grandparents, 2 couples, and 2 small kids) well! We enjoyed the sunrises, ability to walk the beachfront and sand/calm waters of the bay, which were easy to lounge in as the littles easily played. We also loved the outdoor, covered table which comfortably sat 8 plus a high chair in a perfect oasis of a backyard.

The caretakers were very friendly and we saw them each day changing out drinking water, cleaning up, turning beds, and cleaning up the beachfront. Definitely book them to cook you a meal (chiles rellenos and ceviche were among our favorites).

Property is well maintained. Beds were comfortable, individual AC units in the rooms gave flexibility. Watch out for seaweed (which the caretakers do clean up) & wind coming into the bay depending on time of year. Location was great! Cenotes galore, Tulum, and grocery stores are not far off.

Casa Palmeras is a wonderful place to vacation. The house is roomy and very comfortable. The outdoor spaces are nicely landscaped and well maintained. The beach is beautiful and the bay is large and calm for swimming. We also enjoyed the kayaks and snorkeling. The caretaker and housekeeper are very friendly and helpful - we arranged for them to make dinners which were a delicious treat. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking and the only issue was a leaky water line under the sink which the caretaker arranged to have fixed the next day. Akumal Direct was helpful, efficient and very responsive when we had questions.

Since staying at this house I have sent the link to SO many people because I can’t stop raving about our trip. The house is clean and nice, the beds are comfortable. It’s such a great setup for a big family our group because it has a large dining table inside and out, and large sofas also inside and out. The pool and private beach make it so fun and easy for kids, with shady lounge spots near both of them for the parents to lounge. There are kayaks and (if you bring your own stuff - even goggles alone) there’s great snorkeling right outside your door too. The most unexpected perk of the house was the staff thought. There are housekeepers to help with dishes, cleaning, sand sweeping, etc to make it so you don’t have to worry or clean and can truly relax and enjoy your time. We had them cook dinner for us too and it was incredible. They are the sweetest couple and felt like family. It’s within a gated community so it is very safe feeling. Also, they have a concierge service who will help you with any activities you’re interested in (touring ruins, exploring Cenotes - a must!, etc.) They had great info and recommendations. We didn’t partake but they also offered to arrange in home spa services. And the house staff will do your laundry for a small fee if needed. It was. A dreamy spot and I can’t wait to go back! Thank you so much!

The house was lovely, with large air conditioned bedrooms (and all spaces), very clean, and nicely appointed, but not too fancy you'd worry about bringing kids there. The dipping pool was lovely, and lounge chairs there and out beachside under palapas. Decent snorkeling right out front. Caretakers Noe and Elizabeth were darling, super helpful but not intrusive. Elizabeta made 2 delicious meals for us which lasted through lunch and dinner the next day. Fresh bottled water tanks in each bedroom and kitchen, which was well stocked. Also highly recommend the massages, on-site. Ask Noe and he will arrange! Sadly the beach along the bay has far more trash on it than when I was there 6 years ago. Caretakers clean up the portion in front of the house, but not great beach walking due to the trash.

We absolutely loved our stay and had the most wonderful experience! Elisabeth and Noe were the sweetest caretakers, did cleaning, supplied fresh towels every day, and even did our laundry (I paid her extra even though she said no charge) ALSO they cooked for us 3 nights and I wish we had had them cook for us every night, it was INCREDIBLE! Sooo delicious! They made us pollo pibil, steak, homemade empanadas, shrimp, etc etc. nothing like getting home from a day out at Cenotes to the smell of delicious dinner cooking. We just loved the house, the beach was pristine, and everything felt very safe. We will be coming back! Thank you!

There were 4 couples who enjoyed this lovely slice of paradise. 3 bedrooms in the main house and a separate guesthouse. The guesthouse faces the street and does get some traffic noise and no view of the ocean. All beds and pillows were very comfortable. The main house and grounds were kept immaculate as well as the guest house. Plenty of outdoor seating and the ocean is just steps away. Truly a slice of heaven on earth. Noa and Elizabeth were the care takers and cooked us some fabulous meals...I highly recommend the shrimp kabobs and the empanadas! They worked hard every day cleaning, providing fresh linens, and grounds keeping. They also made arrangements for massages for 5 of us at the house which was perfect. We enjoyed the kayaks, we brought our own snorkel gear and enjoyed seeing the reefs and beautiful fish. Would definitely stay here again.

We had an amazing stay at Casa Palmeras. The location is truly paradise, and the villa is top-notch. Big living areas, large bedrooms, and amazing outdoor space--the house is set back from the beach just a little farther than the others, and the palm trees provide shade and privacy. The kayaks are brand new and there are PFDs at the house to help keep everyone safe. While snorkeling, we saw a ton of fish, manta rays, turtles, and beautiful reef/coral. Soliman Bay is special in that it has a protective reef around the outside, so the waves don't break on the shore here. That meant we could take our 5-year-old swimming and snorkeling with ease. The water is shallow and not 's really one of the nicest beaches I've ever been to.

The real highlight of Casa Palmeras, though, are the caretakers Noe and Elizabeth. They are genuinely some of the kindest people I've ever met and kept the house in perfect shape both inside and out. Raking the beach and the grounds, cleaning the house/kitchen/bedrooms/bathrooms, and making us dinner. By the second day, they weren't the caretakers, they were truly our friends and felt like a part of our family. They are phenomenal cooks, and if you have the chance, I highly recommend the shrimp skewers and pollo pibil. And the god, the flan. Elizabeth makes the best flan I've ever had. We ate at Pandano one night (five-star restaurant down the beach) and the flan there paled in comparison.

If Casa Palmeras works for your group, I'd book it without a second thought. We will be back for sure--it was an unforgettable experience.

I just returned home from Mexico (as has most of my party at this point). The house and entire experience was amazing! Casa Palmeras was one of the few properties I have been where the pictures do not do it justice. The beach, pool area, and house were great! Prior to our vacation, we had planned to go see a number of cenotes and ruins, but ended up spending most of our time at the house because we didn't want to leave. I much preferred the relaxed and private vibe of soliman bay than that of Tulum Beach. Last of all, Noe and Elizabeth were amazing and probably the best part of the entire trip. Elizabeth's food was amazing and she even spent a night teaching us to make empanadas and salsas (our request). I still don't know how they kept the house so clean, yet not at all intrusive. Our group has been going on yearly vacations (besides last year) for the last 10 years and this was by far the best experience at a property. I will definitely recommend it to anyone else in the future and would love to stay there again if I ever visit Tulum again!

This was the perfect place for our family vacation. We are a family of 5, with 3 kids under 11 and the 2 bedrooms on the second floor were plenty for us. If you had another guest they would have been very comfortable in the 3rd floor apartment, but that only has access via the deck so we kept the kids inside. Next time we will just bring someone else to enjoy the space!

Regarding the beach, it was beautiful and peaceful. The sand was very soft and we loved snorkeling, swimming, building sand castles, climbing the coconut trees, sea kayaking, lounging, reading and taking beach walks.

Noe and Elizabeth are the caretakers and they are wonderful. They made us dinner everyday, kept the house clean, raked the beach and cleaned up the seaweed (which was not very bad at all during our stay). I would highly recommend using their cooking services. I would suggest waiting to order meals until you get there so you can discuss your dining needs, how much food to prepare, etc. They like 1 day notice - bring cash. If you are arriving early afternoon and are not driving yourself I would recommend asking them to prepare a lunch in advance. There are a couple restaurants but they are quite a walk form the house. Regarding groceries, we used a food stocking service - Riviera Maya Groceries. They were very accommodating but I would ask the taxi driver to stop and pick up some drinks and snacks at the gas station before you arrive since its possible your groceries won't be there until late afternoon.

We were there in mid-March 2020, the week that the Coronavirus hit so unfortunately we had to cut our stay short to get back to the states. However we can/t wait to go back again! As I said this was the perfect place for our family. I have been to Mexico a lot but never before to Soliman Bay. If you want a lot of people and a resort vibe this is not for you, but if you want a gorgeous beach with peace and quiet I would check this place out. Make sure to say hi to
