Choosing a perfect, private and peaceful beach accommodation that won’t break your vacation budget is not an easy task, but it can be done. Consider Tropical Evergreens Casita!
Tucked away between the lush palm trees and other ‘tropical evergreens’, this lovely guest house is an ideal alternative for a couple or a family of 4, looking for something more original, rustic and private than a standard hotel room.
Sheltered from the Soliman Bay’s breezes and the beach by Casa Grande, the main house, Tropical Evergreen Casita stands in its own ground. This palapa-roofed bi-level Casita has all the comforts of a beachfront villa and charm of a treetop house. All the rooms are air-conditioned and there is also Wi-Fi internet connection throughout the entire property.
The main floor of the Tropical Evergreens Casita hosts a spacious living area, a fully-equipped kitchen and a queen-size bedroom with a private bathroom. The upper level is furnished with the two twin beds, and is divided between a cozy living space, another kitchenette, a private bathroom and a spacious terrace, facing the jungle.
The upper floor of the Tropical Evergreens casita is accessed via a private outside stairway. Such layout is great if you are travelling with another couple or don’t need the second level. It is possible to rent just the main floor and save even more money during your stay at Tropical Evergreens. On the other hand, if you are travelling with small children, it might not be a good idea to have them sleep separately on the upper floor, so we would suggest a different accommodation.
For those who enjoy an outdoor cookout, there is an outside BBQ that can be used by guests of the Casita. It is so convenient you might make it a habit of treating yourself to some grilled shrimp or tender, perfectly-cooked steak almost every day.
No Riviera Maya vacation would be complete without the white sandy beach and warm, ever-blue waters of the Caribbean, and Tropical Evergreens is not an exception.
A wide stretch of fine white sand is just a short walk from the guest house casita. Just picture hammocks softly swaying in the sea breeze; the sight of beach palapas against the clear blue sky and the soothing sound of waves lapping on the sun-kissed shore. Now imagine taking a kayak for a quick ride, snorkeling with tropical fish or just relaxing with a good book in one of the hammocks… total bliss. But it’s even better in real life!

It's a wonderful little place. Soliman Bay is not a cheap place to stay. If you're on a budget as a couple or family of four, the Casita is perfect. There is some nighttime noise from the road. You'll also be sharing the beach with the Beach House right in front. For the first week we had really nice folks in the Beach House to share with. The next several days the guests up front weren't as friendly, but we'd make the Casita a first choice every visit.

How does one perfect paradise? After 3 times returning to "our" little casita I only now, feel as though I may share our well-kept secret. It is time for us to travel to other parts of the world perhaps? The Casita is so well protected in a tropical garden that one is never irritated by ocean winds. The bay offers peace and beauty, never-boring pelicans and an abundance of tropical fish. If you go, take precious care to preserve the life and the property graciously loaned.

My husband and I had an incredible vacation! We rented just the downstairs portion of the Casita and it was perfect. We had been to Tulum before to Puerto Morelos 2x and to Isla Holbox last year so we were very versed in the area and this was by far the nicest rental we had ever stayed in. The kitchen is incredibly well appointed. The bed very comfortable and the surrounding area gorgeous! It was just us the whole week as no one else was in the larger house closer to the beach. We grilled almost every night. It was just lovely. Maria and Vincente who live on the property and take care of the place are lovely. But keep in mind that they do not speak any English at all. So you'll need your Spanish or a good phrase book. The only small thing that keeps me from giving it 5 stars is that there is a request asking for a specific amount for Mari & Vincente to be tipped at the end of the stay. I think that this amount should either be mentioned before you show up or included in the price of the rental. I am certainly happy to leave a tip for good service, but there is a note on the refridgerator saying that while tipping is not mandatory that $10/day is standard depending on the "level of service you feel Mari and Vincente have given you". Well that doesn't fee very voluntary to me. I feel as though if it had simply been mentioned prior to my arrival I would have been fine but to show up and then find out that the price was really an additional $70 week for good service I found frustrating. I would much prefer that the host had been upfront, otherwise do not say that house cleaning is included in the price. Because Mari & Vincente are amazing. It's really a minor annoyance. But I feel as though tipping has become ubiquitous and I would have appreciated a more upfront approach. AWESOME place. We really had an amazing time!!

Our stay was delightful and relaxing. We enjoyed kayaking around Soliman Bay. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the house was clean and appropriately equipped. We had an amazing vacation by the beach. We would definitely repeat the experience with Loco Gringo.

Lots of building noise next door, power saws all day and into the early hours of the evening, tenant in front had no regard for other people staying on the property, young child crying and screaming on most nights

The casita is ideal for 2! With a great/simple kitchen, comfortable bed and ample room to relax, it was just what we had hoped for. And because the proprietors do not book the upstairs without the downstairs we had the casita to ourselves and, after asking caretakers Mari & Vicente, enjoyed using the upstairs patio for meals and reading (the living space remained locked...) The beach is about 30 yards from the front door and Vicente takes great care of the property, front to back! We look forward to returning, perhaps with a group of friends!!!

Very nice hostess, the grounds and casitas were well kept and everthing inside was well maintained. See Villa Iguana review about how I feel educating your visitors would also enhance the experience....especially something about the beautiful birds
