  • Homey Akumal Condominiums in Half Moon Bay, Akumal

When traveling on a budget, there are some things that are easy to forgo and others that really make a difference in the quality of your beach vacation. Two things that you absolutely don’t want to compromise on are location and comfort. That’s why Luna Azul Casitas are a great accommodation option for frugal travelers and those, looking for a long-term rental.

These budget-friendly casitas are located just on the other side of Luna Azul beachfront condominiums. Facing a garden and parking area, the 3 casitas (or bungalows) are literally just a few steps from the beach. All you have to do is walk under the Luna Azul arch for your toes to touch the warm, fine coral sands of the Half Moon Bay. The bay and the nearby Yal-Ku Lagoon are some of the best spots in Riviera Maya for snorkeling and exploring the beauty of the Caribbean underwater world.

Simple Caribbean condos that make longer stays possible

Back inside, Luna Azul Casitas offer a cool retreat from the heat of the midday sun. All 3 Casitas are air-conditioned and come with a well-equipped kitchen and a private bathroom. Bodega Sur is a lovely 2-people apartment studio, featuring a king-size bed and a nice private patio. Casitas Norte and Sur are more spacious and can accommodate up to four people, as they are furnished with 2 double beds.

It’s a great money saver to be able to prepare your own breakfast, light snacks or a hearty dinner right in the casita. However, should you want to take a break from cooking, there are three restaurants nearby, including the famous La Buena Vida bar and restaurant that serves amazing cocktails. Farther south is the center of Akumal with more restaurants, shops and dive tours.

It really doesn’t matter if you are staying at Luna Azul Casitas and Riviera Maya for a week or a month, one thing is clear – every day will be just as exciting as the first one. If you are looking for a low-key and economic accommodation, without making compromises on comfort and great beach location at Half Moon Bay, any of the Luna Azul Casitas is a great find!
