Renowned for its laid back attitude and private, picture perfect surrounds, Soliman Bay is one of the most sought-after locations in Riviera Maya.
If you’re looking forward to hours of snorkeling, hammock siestas and long strolls on the beach, stay at Casa Canciones!
Translated from Spanish as “House of Songs”, this private beach house is a perfect metaphor of the “Don’t worry, be Happy” tune. Divided between an upper level and a beach level bungalow, Casa Canciones is a great choice for honeymooners, couples or a family with a small child.
The two bungalows are almost identical, featuring a comfortable king-size bed, a private bathroom, airy living and dining areas, a futon-sleeper sofa and a beautiful, fully-equipped kitchen. The bungalows have independent entrances, so the only choice you have to make is whether you prefer the palm top view or beach side convenience. Tough decision eh?
To help you ease your way into the true Riviera Maya style of life, there are sweeping terraces with a built-in grill, outdoor furniture and hammocks, perfect for balmy evenings and seafood cookouts.
Walk three steps and you are on the beach. There is even a large beach palapa with lounge chairs designed to enjoy a few chilled beers under the shade.
Despite the kicked back atmosphere, Casa Canciones offers modern conveniences such as Wi-Fi, daily cleaning services and secure private parking. You’ll also find 3 kayaks on the beach, inviting you to explore the marine diversity of Soliman Bay. Chamico’s Restaurant is worth checking out. It’s close and the food is delicious!
Bottom line is: Casa Canciones is an awesome deal in terms of beachfront location, price, services and comfort. You’ll be kicking yourself later if you don’t “+Add it to your Inquiry” Today!

Very well supplied Casita. They provide (perhaps for a week stay) eggs, juice, and enough coffee beans to last me for a year. Car not necessary if you can tolerate the 1 mile walk to the highway. Colectevo comes by approximately every 5 minutes. Beach, bay & kayaks were nice. Take scuba boots if you plan do do much beach walking.
Very roomy. Would return.

Home away from home, perfect studio apartment! Up at 6 every a.m.to watch the sunrise with fresh ground bean coffee(provided)! The pristine waters, the quiet, the cordial Luis, the beauty. Kayaking out to the buoys to roll into the blue carribean, entering a different world with respect and awe. I wish I lived there.
Some of you may not like the remoteness, the shallow sea grass, the 'salty' digs, but I am in love.

Beach area was rustic and not crowded, very laid-back. The grill didn't work, but everything else did. Bedding and living area were clean and well-maintained. We would return.

It's a very well-maintained place in a beautiful location and I enjoyed my stay. However, two drawbacks: there were dogs close by in the neighborhood that began barking loudly at about 5:00 am. When I stayed there, in late October, the wind coming off the ocean was extremly strong; made it unpleasant to sit outside in the late afternoon and evening.

I wish that the front windows and door had glass panels, even if only partially. When the wind is very strong you have to close everything and instead of beeing able to contemplate the sea and the sky, you feel like in a basement. To me this is the only, but major drawback of Casa Canciones.

The property was exactly what we wanted for an early May escape. On the ocean, remote, secure and quiet. That is until the 5 families with 11+ children arrived next door. Constant shrieking and yelling amongst the kids & adults in the pool since they were afraid to go into the ocean. We either had to move down the beach or drive to a different beach due to their loudness and loud music so we could read and find solitude. One night at 12:30 am we had to ask them to curtail their party so we could sleep. Be cautious about wanting peace & quiet with loud and excitable neighbors.
The wind blew fairly strong everyday making it difficult to sit on the beach & a challenge trying to kayak. We didn't mind it most days since it kept it cool and kept the bugs away.
The ocean view & location were very pleasant.
We were surprised with the amounts of floating trash & plastic on the beach and in the water in the bay. On the 2nd day, we couldn't stand seeing so much trash and would spend 1-2 hours every morning of the week with large trash bags picking up trash along the beach and floating in the water. It made a big difference and others started to pick up trash also. I guess the locals just don't see the trash or understand the impact it has on visitors. One thing we didn't understand is when the locals rake their beach area, they rake the old sea grass back into the ocean instead of removing it from the beach. This makes it rather messy going through the old, floating sea grass when you want to swim or kayak.

We had a lovely time at Casa de Canciones. We wanted a quiet tucked away place to relax and enjoy the ocean, and it really delivered. Everyday we would kayak into the bay and snorkel around, nap in the hammocks and cook dinner in the kitchen. We would gladly return.
The only drawback was the vocal dog neighbors. When they get interested in something you know about it. But, this is a special place and if friendly dogs that express themselves on a night or two is our only complaint, well then we don't have much to complain about.
Clean, great location (10 minutes to Tulum), amazing snorkeling (tulum was too rough to just swim out and snorkel), perfect sunny weather. Very happy Oregonians that will be back.

There was a gracious favour on this land and the owners seem to encourage that. It was a great place to reflect and restore my sense of well-being.

Well-after a nasty night in Playa (belongings stolen from the hotel), what a place to come 'home' to! This is our second stay at the Casa and it is as magical as ever. We met the owner and her husband this time around and she was as gracious as she was welcoming! As usual, we wandered to Oscar Y Lalos for lunch and dinner and our hosts, Virginia and Oscar, were great! We will be back!!!!!

The property is beautifully maintained, comfortable and the staff is awesome! There is a lot to do within 20 minutes drive, but you may not want to leave the quiet, beautiful beach. The water is stunning, lots of hammocks and beach chairs on the property - the kayaks were an added bonus. I've stayed in Akumal numerous times - I'd definitely recommend Soliman Bay and Casa de Canciones, if you are looking for a quiet, layed-back vacation. The owners happened to be staying there while we were there - very nice, considerate, thoughtful people.
I have been to Soliman Bay over the years, and I really enjoyed my stay at Casa Canciones!

Nice place but noisy neighbors and rogue dogs. Too much seaweed and little coral or fish to see in Soliman Bay so poor snorkling. Very windy and BBQ grill doesn't function properly.

If you suffer from the following, by all means STAY HOME;afraid of adventure, unique food, the Ocean at it's best, wildlife, and extreme good times! Now-if you LOVE living LARGE and want to go home feeling like you REALLY had a V A C A T I O N ------then come to the CASA. Make SURE to dine at Oscar y Lalos across the street on rte. 307. The Best food you will find in Mexico and Virginia and Oscar are the most delightful hosts you are likely to encounter on this planet. Tell them Derinda, Paul, Janie, and Dave sent you. Bart from Loco Gringo was the best and is very knowledgeable and can give ANY information you will need in your travels there. Say "hello" to the monkees and iguanas for us! ADIOS AMIGOS-till next time!!!!!

This was a true gem of a find and totally what I was hoping for in a remote isolated beach location. There really is nothing bad I can say except, just a few comments that would have made my personal experience more comfortable. The property has an onsite caretaker which for security is very re-assuring. The caretaker also provides daily maid service which I found invasive and un-nessasary ( arriving at 11am and staying for upto 2 hours somedays) I felt uncomfortable having someone in my space during the day while I was there. I think there should be someway to notify this person if you do not want service, the lovely gentleman did not peak english. The guest book strongly advises that you tip this lovely gentleman about $20 (US) a day, which I also found a bit unreasonable. The road leading into the location is very bumpy, my little rental car took a beating! I noticed that many residents and return guests were driving large SUVs I can see why.

Casa de Canciones was a wonderfull change from the usual all-includive vacations of the past. We rented a car and stayed at 3 different locations. This beach home did not disapoint.
We stayed on the 2nd floor unit and loved it. Just a stones throw from the ocean bay, and just rustic enough to be really cool.
Soloman Bay is beautiful, and for snorklers it is great. Many fish and sea life found directly in front of the home in the bay that is protected by a large reaf.
Talum and Acumal are just 10-15 min drive, and plenty to do in both locations. We enjoyed going to the local super-market and buying our food, then cooking on the outdoor grill in the evenings.
We will return... someday.

The view from the casa is stunning, and the casa itself is gorgeous. Most days, we had the beach and the bay almost to ourselves - not counting the sea turtles, fish and rays. And what a perk to have kayaks at our disposal! Casa de Canciones is also a great launching pad for all the area attractions - far enough away from the crowds, but close enough to reach all the places worth seeing.

Absolutely no complaints, only positive experiences. The caretaker was absolutely lovely, low key and helpful despite our language challenges. The cottage was immaculate, well-provisioned, simple, straightforward. This is the 5th trip I've made to Solomons Bay and I will continue to be a repeat customer.

The only drawback for this property is the house next door with a pool, often full of shouting children.

This is at the top of our list for best vacations. We wanted a place on the beach where we could hang out, relax, walk, snorkel, kayak, take a nap in a hammock, cook in or eat out if we felt like it. We left our kids at home and this was more of a romantic get away and much more appropriate for couples who enjoy an easy going and peaceful vacation, drinks on the deck, and the full moon for night life!

As much as we like the Casa, I just went on to reserve for another vacation and noticed the extreme price hike and was shocked!

Our stay at Casa Canciones was great! The wind was roaring a couple of the days (of course can't be helped) but we still snorkeled and sun tanned on the beautiful beach. Everyone was very helpful and friendly, and the casita had everything we needed (AC was great to have) except for shampoo/conditioner. Felt safe and very private, and Tulum was a short drive away for dinners and entertainment. We would love to return.

Great place - great location. What more can you wish for?

This was our second time at Casa Canciones and we reccomend it to all of our friends. Such a beautiful and private spot right on the water. A few suggestions: add more hooks throughout the house for hanging wet towels and swim suits to dry and add more Tupperware for storing leftover food. Other than that we had everything we needed.
It was great - so good that we returned forum days later.

Our family had one the best vacations ever. We have two young children 5 and 7 years old so the calm waters in the bay were great. The only bummer is that it's not very easy to wade out into the water due to the sea grass and reef. We ended traveling down the beaches in Tulum when we wanted surf and a sandy bottom. Casa de Canciones was absolutely great for our needs. We cooked a lot and just chilled. It was the perfect setup for traveling with multiple families. Our friends had a separate living space above us so we all had our own space, but could easily get together whenever we wanted. Luis, the caretaker, was also great. He served us up fresh coconuts and took very good care of us. We would definitely recommend this place to others seeking a quiet relaxing vacation. Next time, however, I think our family will opt for a place located on surf with sandy bottom.

This was our 5th time staying at Casa Canciones and, as always, we had a wonderful, relaxing week. The casita is perfect for 2 people and the location couldn't be better. We love being able to walk out right onto the sand and jump in the water. We also loved the new windows. Would like to see a new barbecue-the one now doesn't work.

We had a great time at Casa Canciones. The property was wonderful and the staff (Don Louis and house keeper) were great. Overall, we had a wonderful time while we were there. The property was just like the pictures listed on the website. The ruins at Tulum and Coba were wonderful, as was Playa de Carmen. The Sahara Caf? (don't let the name fool you- it is an upscale restaurant at Ja Shita Hotel) was wonderful. Oscar and Lalo was also very good. We will definitely return as this was our first time renting a house in Mexico and it surpassed all of our expectations. There were two things that took awat from the trip and they were the safe did not work and the directions for tipping the staff were not very clear, these were minor things but overall, it was wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

We had a 5 day family vacation and rented both apartments. The place was immaculately kept and had everything we needed. Would definitely book again.

This is a terrific get away for rest and relaxation in a beautiful location. The property is simple and well-maintained. We spent time kayaking and snorkeling along the reef, enjoyed great beach walks... fabulous dining across the street at Oscar and Lalo''s Restaurant along beaches in Tulum.
