A Toy, A Smile

Holiday Toy Drive

Community efforts to bring a little joy into the lives of children at Chrismas time.

Our mission : to collect as many toys in order to obtain the largest number of smiles of the children of the most marginalized people in the towns of the Mayan Zone of Quintana Roo.

This modest effort to bring joy to these children began in 2006 when a small group of businessmen and residents of Akumal, Quintana Roo, raised and donated a small amount of money and bought lots of toys to share on the day of the “Three Kings” in some of the poorest towns of the Mayan Zone of Quintana Roo, about 80 kilometers south of Tulum.

Each year the number of toys collected (and above all … smiles!) has increased and hopefully with your help this year (our 5th year!) it will surpass previous years. For more information please visit: Akumal Toy Drive.

Starting December 1 there will be toy collection boxes in Akumal at “The Chomak”, Super El Pueblito, and TSA (Travel Services of Akumal)  We invite all visitors to the area to contribute a toy!

In the name of hundreds of children in the Zona Maya of Quintana Roo THANK YOU ALL for your generosity.
