The Catalonia Royal Tulum Beach & Spa resort is an adults only all-inclusive resort, located in Xpu- Ha, Riviera Maya, on the Caribbean coastline. It is surrounded by native jungle trees, local plants, mangroves and cenotes (water springs) where a diverse variety of flora and fauna can be found in an unspoiled habitat. Catalonia Royal Tulum is just 5 kilometers south of Puerto Aventuras, 25 kilometers from either Playa del Carmen (to the north) or Tulum archaeological zone and beaches (to the south), and 85 kilometers south of Cancun International airport. The resort is conveniently located to see all the best sights along the Riviera Maya coast.
The Catalonia Royal Tulum entrance is a grand affair with a soaring thatched roof, central fountain and an elegant marble floor. The quality is immediately evident. Comfortable rattan love seats, tables and chairs are scattered around the spacious lobby area creating cozy little lounges that are private enough for casual conversations or small gatherings. There are several directions to go from here, including two exquisite dining rooms, a nightclub/ tavern upstairs, and the sacbe (Mayan for "white road"). This is a raised path of cut and leveled limestone, hand fitted by local Mayan masons to mimic the traditional sacbes built by the ancient Maya. It leads into the heart of the resort winding its way through the native foliage and past natural water pools (cenotes) which have been cleaned and preserved for the ecology.
The accommodations are located along the sacbe walkway and reveal themselves through the greenery as you walk toward the beach. All is very beautiful and natural. There are 252 double rooms and 36 Junior Suites and when you've had enough sun, fun, food and drink, just return to your room to chill-out in your comfy room. All rooms have either one king size bed or two double size beds, and balcony or terrace with table and chairs. All rooms are air conditioned and have ceiling fan, cable TV (premium TV channels), direct telephone, alarm clock, mini bar with soft drinks, bottled water and beer (refilled daily), coffee maker, safe box, iron, ironing board and a fully equipped bathroom with hair dryer. Turn down service and a pillow menu are included. There are also "spa experience" rooms. Non-smoking rooms are available on request as are rooms equipped for the disabled. Free WiFi wireless internet access is available in all areas of the hotel. Beyond the accommodations buildings the foliage opens to a walking bridge passing over a beautiful green mangrove area, followed by the resort's main attraction, their gigantic tiled swimming pool and beach.
The swimming pool and beach are full service areas. A large pool-side palapa, directly adjacent to the beach, houses the food and beverages buffet and sit-down dining area. This is a convenient arrangement for those who want to hang out all day and to get their full dose of paradise on the Caribbean. Xpu ha beach is an awesome powdery white limestone beach that's great for strolls, tanning, swimming and water sports. A sea of lounges are available for sun worshipers.
Catalonia Royal Tulum's cutting-edge facilities are able to offer each guest tailored services. There is a great pool and 4 outdoor Jacuzzis with sea views.
