Posada Punta Piedra has a nice little spot on Tulum beach where the rocky coast dips in to create an isolated stretch of sand, shared by just a few boutique hotels. The view is that classic Tulum beach Caribbean view, and an added bonus is this location's convenience to services. There are several good beach bar/restaurants just a minute walk away. Shopping for convenience items like snacks and drinks is just as close, and at least two excellent art/craft gift shops are in the neighborhood.
The rooms are on the beach or one level up, with a view. They have either king, queen or double beds; a private bathroom, balcony or porch (most, depending on level), and a little storage for your things. All have some sort of fan -- floor, table or ceiling fan -- but no AC. WiFi Internet reception is provided for all rooms.
For a quick trip into Tulum Pueblo just hail a taxi in front of the hotel. Tulum Pueblo is roughly 5 kilometers away, closer from here than most hotels on the beach. In the pueblo you will discover many more fine bar/restaurants, stores, banks, major shopping, etc. Tulum ruins is also close to Posada Punta Piedra; less than 5 minutes away by taxi.
