La Posada del Sol is located on the south end of a semi-private white sand beach, just a few minutes south of the Mayan ruins of Tulum. This is a picturesque location, convenient to stores and restaurants, and there is an excellent retail store on site offering unique jewelry, clothing and craft work made by local artisans.

Inside La Posada del Sol you'll find colorful artistic design work everywhere you look. Decorative accents of jungle hardwood, ocean coral and Maya artwork give their rooms a comfortable semi-rustic feel. Their most popular comment from guests is how much they love La Posada del Sol's unique natural design.

Six beach front rooms offer direct beach access and sea views. Each room features curved, hand smoothed cement artistry unique to the area. Enjoy the "zama" (Mayan for sunrise) every morning after a restful night's sleep. The best room is the suite called "Luna" (Moon). It offers two levels of privacy with an incredible rooftop terrace including sunset views over the jungle.

Posada del Sol offers four garden rooms away from the beach, which are a bit more insulated from the sound of the waves. These rooms are large and decorative, and are an economical alternative to beach living.

La Posada del Sol is located close to shops, cafes and restaurants. Daily continental breakfast at the hotel's breakfast bar is included with your room. Also on site, enjoy browsing their Ambar Jewelry, clothing and regional craft work in their special gift shop. Here you can find amazing natural jewelry, Maya and Mexican artwork along with handmade clothing. Prices are very reasonable.

Electricity service- All six beach front bungalows have electricity 24 hours per day. Four garden rooms have electricity from 5pm to 8am.

    • "Mar" means ocean and this second floor room offers a balcony with a direct ocean view, 2 queen size beds and a large, especially unique bathroom.
  • Bungalow Sol
    • 1 king bed. Sleeps 2.
    • "Sol" means Sun in Spanish and this room offers the best sunrise view from it's second floor balcony. It has a king size bed and a large bathroom.
  • Bungalow Luna
    • 1 king bed. Sleeps 2.
    • "Luna" means Moon and this is considered to be the best room in the hotel. It has a large second floor bathroom and a spacious bedroom with a king bed. Included is a third floor rooftop deck complete with hammocks, tables and chairs. Enjoy sunrise as well as sunset views.

    • This room is on garden level but in a quieter location away from the shops. Its front terrace has a hammock and chairs. The bedroom has a king size bed and ceiling fan. There is a large bathroom. Electricity from 5pm to 8am.

    • Perhaps the best of the garden group, this room is brightly lit, on the second level overlooking the shops and palm trees. The bedroom has a king size bed, ceiling fan, and balcony with hammock and chairs. There is a large bathroom. Electricity from 5pm to 8am.
