iTour Mexico was born with the idea to nurture and act as a host to a community of travellers who share a passion for one of the most multi-cultured and multi-colored countries in the world: Mexico. Itour Mexico is a base for people of every race and color who want to travel freely. Why iTour Mexico? We could have called ourselves "I love Mexico" or "I belong to Mexico" but we chose Itour to emphasize our dedication to travel, and using a word that will interest our visitors. For our logo we chose a hiking boot to emphasize movement, comfort and the dynamics of our society. We also decided to use this symbol as it is one of the most important items for any traveller all over the world; with a good pair of hiking boots you can walk the globe. There are many of us; literally thousands of people. We are all of those who have loved the traditional costumes of Mexico; we are all of those who have cried after eating a chilli; we are all of those who have been left speechless at the fine white sand and beautiful beaches; we are all of those who have returned home with our own "sombrero"; all of those who have felt emotion on the 15th September; all of those who have been awed when stumbling across Mayan ruins in the middle of the jungle; we are all of those who, after finishing a day's work, have dreamed of living here forever.

Revolution Room Dedicated to the most historic moment in Mexican history. The Mexican Revolution began as an armed demonstration in the beginning of 1910 to bring down the dictator Porfirio Diaz and officially ended in 1917 with the promulgation of a new constitution, even though the protests carried on until the end of the 1920's. The movement had a long impact upon construction workers, farmers and anarchists all over the world. The political constitution of the United States of Mexico was the first constitution worldwide to recognize the rights of workers and the unions. ?The Revolution introduced to Mexico the famous characters of Pancho Villa and Emiliano Zapata, who even today still represent symbols of freedom and independence. Villa came from the state of Durango and became a revolutionary figure for the general public, and Zapata, from Morelos, became a hero when he chose to commit suicide rather than be taken prisoner as he had promised he would fight for freedom until the end.
Hugh Sanchez Room Dedicated to the Famous Mexican football player. His career as a football-ist began in 1975 with the Mexican team Los Pumas from the Autonoma University of Mexico. There he demonstrated his skills and in 1976 played in the national team for the Olympics in Montreal, Canada. In 1981 he transferred to Atletico Madrid in Spain, where he stayed until 1985 and with whose team colors won the Spanish Cup, obtaining second place in the Spanish league and becoming top scorer. In 1985 he moved to Real Madrid where he became a top player, although for some he was already. Here he won five championships in a row, the Spanish Cup, the UEFA Cup, and the Golden Boot in 1990. In 1992, at the age of 33, he left the team from Madrid but, with a series of injuries, the bright star that was Hugo Sanchez began to dim. He returned to Mexico and played for the America team, after which he returned to Spain for the 1993/94 season and wearing the Vallecano shirt scored 16 goals. After a break at Rayo he returned to Mexico and played for Atlante de Mexico during 1994/95. The following year Sanchez played for Lask Linz in Austria, only lasting a year before returning to his homeland. The season 1996/97 he played for Celaya with his ex-teammates from Real Madrid, Emilio Butragueno and Michel. With the national team of Mexico he scored 29 goals and reached second place in the america Cup in 1993. He played in the World Cup in 1978, 86, & 94; captained the national Mexican team from 2006 to 2008 and was captain of Almeria in the Spanish League. He is remembered by many for the number of goals he scored, but he is better remembered in the football world for his inverted kicks.
El Santo Room Dedicated to the legendary Mexican wrestler. The career of this great wrestler spans more than five decades and not only has he become a symbol of strength and justice in Mexican culture but his ability to relate to the public without showing his face made him an icon to which everyone could identify, imagining themselves under the silver mask. Rodolfo Guzman Huerta, known as "El Santo" (The Saint), was born 23 September 1917 in Tulancingo in the hidalgo region of Mexico. During his teenage years Rodolfo played baseball and rugby, but soon developed a passion for the legendary launching pad of "lucha libre". After trying out different names such as Rudy Guzman, L'ombre Rojo (Red Man), and El Murcielago II (The Bat II)in 1940 he finally settled for a name which would give him immortality: El Santo el Enmascarado de Plata (The Saint with the Silver Mask). As with all great heroes, El Santo also had a sidekick who was the Blue Demon, made all the more famous by fighting at El Santo's side. Their alliance awakened popular fantasies and the two were asked to appear as lead protagonists in a film. In the course of his career, Santo appeared in over 40 films battling the forces of evil. No-one was ever able to take off the famous silver mask in his life on Earth or the next; El Santo was actually buried with his mask.
The Speedy Gonzales room Dedicated to the fastest and cutest animated Mexican Mouse. The fastest mouse in all of Mexico is the famous cartoon character from the Warner Bros Looney Tunes series. Speedy's special characteristics are his capacity to run at high speed and his stereotypical Mexican accent. Speedy's debut was in 1953. At the start he was a different character, lighter in color, thinner and similar to a rat with a giant gold tooth. After two years, Fritz Freleng and animator Hawley Pratt remodelled Speedy and his new look debuted in 1955. Soon afterwards Freleng introduced Speedy's enemy, Sylvester the Cat, and in a series of cartoons Sylvester was always outdone by Speedy in intelligence and speed and suffered every kind of humiliation from being caught in a giant mouse trap to accidentally consuming vast amounts of chilli! Recently the Speedy cartoons have been accused of a stereotyping Mexicans and their lifestyle. The mice are portrayed as drinkers and lazy whilst Speedy wears and enormous sombrero and breaks into song and dance with the mariachi. With these criticisms Cartoon Network had to lay aside the Speedy cartoons when they gained exclusive satellite use in 1999. The cartoons were reworked and after a television campaign and the influence of the Latin American population the personality of Speedy was portrayed as a positive image for the Mexican citizens.
Frida Kahlo Room Dedicated to the greatest female artist in Mexican history. Born in 1907 in Casa Azul in Coyoacan, a suburb of Mexico City. Her life was one of suffering from a young age; if not from polio at the age of six then from the tragic accident in 1925 when a tram collided with the bus in which Frida was travelling, leaving her with a broken spine in three places. From this point onwards Frida became more of a recluse. During her long and painful convalescence, from which she never fully recovered, Frida started to paint as an outlet her emotions. She married Diego Rivera, one of the greatest muralists of the time, and counted among her admirers the great Picasso, and the surrealist André Breton. Frida's artwork showing both her sensual and strong feminine side has connected strongly with the female public above all, as they can connect with the emotions Frida portrayed in her canvases. For a woman, to find yourself in front of one of Frida's portraits is to connect to your inner self and immerse yourself in the true essence of femininity.
