With a bi-level design and an open floor plan Behla Palapita is a very cool little beach bungalow. It has 24 hour electricity from solar and wind, plus a battery bank and backup generator. There is a wonderful sea view from both levels. The Palapita is surrounded by the tropical plants of the primary dune with a wide sandy path leading down to the beach front.
Inside, Behla Palapita opens up to a long room with couches, a kitchen with refrigerator, stove-top and the essentials, and a dining area. A short stairway leads up to the two bedrooms. The palapa roof helps keep the interior cool and the walls stop short of the ceiling, turning to horizontal sticks to let in light and the fresh sea breeze. Everything is screened in and there are fans to assist on the rare occasions that there is no sea breeze. Splashes of bright color here and there give the place a tropical beachy feel.
The two bedrooms are on the upper level, each with a nice sea/ beach view, king bed, a fan and an ensuite bathroom in open plan. The bathrooms have hot and cold water, a sink, a shower and storage space.
When availability permits Behla Palapita can be rented with Casa Behla and/or Behla La Chiquita in order to accommodate larger groups.
