Imagine the Caribbean sea from your beach side bungalow. Welcome to Azulik bungalows in Tulum, a small cluster of 15 private ocean and beach bungalows, all with spectacular views of the sea, located between the ruins of Tulum and the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve.
About the bungalows All the bungalows are constructed of native local hardwoods. Each has a private deck to enjoy the sea view to the East, and a series of ceiling to floor windows that face both the sea and the tropical jungle. The twelve sea view bungalows are similar with the exception of the honeymoon bungalow (#12) and the romance bungalow (#1) which both have upgraded bathroom amenities. The romance bungalow has a LAN cable for internet access. The beach bungalows rise above the sandy beach on stilts. These three bungalows (#13-14-15) have a wide view of the sea and easy access from their decks to the sandy beach below.
News at Azulik Wireless internet access is now available in Azulik! Guests working with laptops can also request room service via MSN through Azulik front desk. All Azulik villas now have new hanging beds on the outside decks, as well as new cushions for the outside chairs. Ceiling fans have been installed in all Azulik villas. They will be operating from approximately 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. 24 hour fan service will be available by summer. All Azulik villas have electronic safes, which operate with either a credit card (swipe the bar code, there is no charge to use the safe) or your own private PIN number. Safes are large enough to fit two laptops (15" screen or smaller) and more.
Things to do Wake up early for a swim and if you feel energized take a kayak from the beach to explore part of this amazing shoreline. Next go snorkeling out on Tulum's coral reef and when you've had enough come ashore to see more of Tulum's beaches just south or north of Azulik. This is your opportunity to beachcomb for miles on some of the best beaches in the Caribbean. For a taste of history you must-see the Tulum ruins, just 5 minutes up the road right on the Caribbean. For something different and unique go to the jungle to find Tulum's cenote freshwater pools. There's a couple near the beach and many more inland. If you want to dig deeper into the ancient Maya there are other less known archaeological sites nearby like the ruins of Muyil and Coba, or the more distant ruins of Ek Balam and Chichen Itza. When you return you'll be ready to enjoy your private paradise, Azulik, where you can soak in your carved tree trunk bathtub or hot-tub on the deck. Then get papmered with an in-room massage, aromatherapy reiki experience to stimulate your senses, or a Mayan Temazcal (Maya steam room) session. When you're hungry room service can serve you in your bungalow or you can stroll to the beach front restaurant, as you wish. Enjoy a candlelit dinner on your private terrace under the moonlight and an after dinner have a cocktail in your private seaside log-tub up on the cliff.
