Inside & outside Situated on a half acre lot with plenty of beach frontage, Casa del Perro Feliz is comfortable and open, built within the palms on the curve of the bay. The beach perfect for taking a dip or launching a kayak to cruise massive Tankah Bay. Over 2400 sq.ft. of interior living space features tile floors, and solid mahogany doors and trim. A cook's kitchen has granite counter tops and a Bosch gas stove. Bathrooms are marble and tile, each with a shower. The 2nd floor balcony has a view of palms and the sea as does the beach level furnished sandy patio area. Lots of windows in the house take advantage of the beautiful views. A custom built dining room table seats 8 and the kitchen breakfast bar seats 3.
Bedrooms & rooftop All bedrooms have private baths, large closets and comfortable beds with Serta pillow-top mattresses and box springs. One bedroom is on beach level. The other two are located on the 2nd floor, separated by the 2nd floor ocean terrace. All bedrooms have abundant windows with ocean views. 9½ ft. ceilings, Hunter ceiling fans, screened sliding windows and the ever present sea breeze keeps the house cool and comfortable. The front of the house is shaded by palm trees, ideal for relaxing in a hammock with a good book. The rooftop observation deck features a large open area and built-in sofa which seats 6. Relaxing on the roof with a Margarita, watching the sunset and indigenous birds is a great way to end a day.
Vacation research If you've never visited Tankah before you'll be delighted to see it's a small community of beach front homes with 3 small hotels that have restaurants. Everyone faces the sparkling bay and beach. Kayak or walk to Casa Cenote for a snack or a cervesa, and a swim in Manatee cenote. For adventure, 10 minutes drive south is the Pueblo of Tulum, the Tulum ruins and Tulum beach. The same distance north is the seaside town of Akumal and about 50 minutes north, the major tourist town of Playa del Carmen.
