Corazon de la Tortuga is located on a short stretch of Paraiso Tankah beach where an unusual number of marine turtles have chosen nest annually, and they do it directly in front of the villa! Apparently in front of Corazon de la Tortuga there is enough boulder free fine sand to be a perfect nesting option. Marine turtle nesting and hatching season runs from mid May through October. From Spring through late Summer it's common the see turtles on the beach at night digging a hole and laying their eggs. Afterward they cover their eggs with sand and crawl back into the sea. It's a magical event to witness. Starting sometime in late July the baby turtles start hatching out and then make their first crawl to sea. This continues until late October. If you love turtles a stay at Corazon de la Tortuga is not to be missed!
