Casa Caribena is a beautiful beach front villa with a garden side pool and a shaded beach front patio for enjoying the tropical outdoors. The kitchen has everything you need to cook whatever you like but we suggest you enjoy the superb skills of the house cook, Lily, whose talents are included at no additional cost.
Features of the casa The casa's dining room seats 14 people as does the ocean side patio, which is a lovely place to dine while enjoying the sea breeze and turquoise waters of the Tankah bay. For entertainment the living room has U.S. Dish Network Satellite TV and CD stereo. There are three couches, coffee tables and a slider to the beach side patio. The Tiki wet bar is just off the living room for mixing Margaritas and other tropical specialties. From the bar the swimming pool and beach are equidistant making entertaining quite easy. For your communication needs the house has a wireless Internet connection and a telephone that uses pre-paid calling cards. The crowing glory of Casa Caribena is its rooftop deck with a shaded lounge area, additional sunbathing space in full sun, and the elevated dipping pool that seats up to 14 people. The 360º view is spectacular and shows just how wide Tankah bay is as it melts into the Caribbean background. The roof deck is also a gem for stargazing at night.
The swimming pool is surrounded by a lush tropical garden with an aviary on its road side. The pool has a built-in lounging area to keep you cool while sunbathing and there are several chaise lounges on the pool deck. The pool area is always tranquil on windy days and so it's perfect for lunch, entertaining or afternoon cocktails. Another great outdoor area is the sea side covered patio with its thatched shade roof, fringing palms and sea grape trees. The view to the sea is lovely and the patio is the perfect place to retreat to when you've had enough sun on the beach. For fun on the water the casa's sea kayaks let you get out on Tankah bay. The snorkeling in front of the villa is very good.
On the beach & personal pampering Casa Caribena has lounge chairs on the beach along with several hammocks for your sea front siesta. The pool has its own furnished lounge area and is a great spot to watch the sunset while sipping your Margarita or Piña Colada. Pampering is a priority at Casa Caribena. A Mayan Shaman gives wonderful healing and relaxing massages and a girl comes each week to offer manicures, pedicures, and facials while you lounge around the pool or under the shaded palapa patio. These services come at an additional cost, all delivered to you in the privacy of the casa.
Each of Casa Caribena's six bedrooms are air conditioned with a private or an adjacent bathroom. (For your convenience there are also two half baths, one by the bar and another on the roof.) The master bedroom faces the sea and has a king size and queen size bed. The second bedroom is also on the beach side with a king size bed, vanity and spacious interior. The third bedroom has an ocean view along with a beach and jungle view. It has a queen size bed and its bath is just a few steps down the hall. The fourth bedroom is upstairs and on the ocean side with a king size bed, personal terrace and bath. The fifth bedroom is also upstairs facing the sea with a king size bed, private terrace and bathroom. The sixth bedroom is upstairs facing the jungle with a king size bed and it's bathroom is just across the hall.
There is a second living room upstairs that's very comfy with three sofas facing a TV that has American satellite programming. Adjacent to this room is a game room with a wall of windows that gives you the entire view of the bay. Here you can play cards, make puzzles, or just sit and have a cup of coffee in the morning. There is also a full bar on the second level, a full size refrigerator, stove and set of utensils.
A few extras are also available. A few steps down the beach is the famous Manatee Cenote, a freshwater snorkeling spot with clear emerald green water and tropical fish. Bone fishing trips can be arranged to Boca Paila's first class flats fishing grounds, an excellent opportunity for anglers, only 45 minutes from Casa Caribena. Deep sea fishing can also be arranged to troll for the "big fellas" in the deep blue Caribbean. For a little culinary variety, two restaurants are within walking distance of the casa. Casa Caribena is located approximately 15 minutes from the Mayan ruins of Tulum, Tulum beaches and Tulum's refreshing cenotes. Playa del Carmen, Xcaret, Xel-Ha, and many other incredible sites are nearby on the coast, and Chichen Itza is only 90 minutes away.
