The quality is clearly evident as you approach the front gate of this villa. The meticulous stone work and elegant wrought iron of the entry courtyard sets the stage for high expectations. On your way to the front door, on the left, is the two story guest house with two apartments, upper and lower, each with its own kitchen, living area and bedding consisting of one queen and one single bed. One or both of these apartments are included for groups of 9 to 14 people (details below). The guest house also houses the laundry facilities.
Inside Villa Gran Orquidea on the lower level are the gourmet kitchen, formal dining room, living room and one bedroom. The kitchen, dining room and living room all have a view of the pool through glass doors. The kitchen has granite counter tops, a breakfast bar, an island, stainless steel appliances and solid mahogany cabinets. There is a dishwasher, six burner stove/oven, large refrigerator, microwave, toaster, blender, coffee maker, ample cook-ware, place settings, etc. The villa's chef is included and is available to cook meals if you wish. On the other side of the breakfast bar is the formal dining room which seats six. Across from the dining room is the living room with an L shaped couch, coffee table and some additional seating. Both the living and dining rooms have beautiful chandeliers and four meter high (13 ft.) ceilings. Doors open from the living room and dining room to the pool and pool terrace.
There are four bedrooms in total. The lower level bedroom faces the entry courtyard and has a four poster king bed, and a view of the greenery. Upstairs are the remaining three bedrooms beginning with the master bedroom. It has a king bed, satellite TV, and a private terrace overlooking the pool and golf course. Next to it is another bedroom, also with one king bed and a terrace overlooking the pool. The last upstairs bedroom faces the garden entry to the casa. Its balcony overlooks the courtyard greenery. Every bedroom in the house has doors that open to either a full terrace or smaller balcony.
The pool and garden greenery beyond it provide the buffer between the house and the golf course. On the pool terrace are several chaise lounges in shade or full sun, a shaded dining table that seats six, an exterior rinse shower with a lovely tiled floral mosaic, and a grilling area with wet bar. There's plenty of counter space for preparing meals, and catering prepared dishes from the interior kitchen is very easy. In the blue tiled pool there is a shallow area for kids, some built-in stools between the shallow end and the deep end, and there is a built-in Jacuzzi. The pool area has a nice view of greenery and the golf course.
Up on the rooftop deck is a thatched shade palapa for hammocks and some tiled counter space for food or beverage preparation. The view west overlooks the golf course and to the east there is a partial view of the ocean.
An added bonus Six bicycles are provided for guests' use. Along with your rental is guest member's card from the beach front Omni Hotel that gives the guests right to use their swimming pool, gym, and towels for free. You will also receive a 20% discount on all food and beverages from the hotel (at the bar, the beach and the restaurant). Villa Gran Orquidea's location is just a couple minutes from Puerto Aventuras' marina and five minutes from the main beach on Fatima bay where the Omni Hotel is. The marina has many restaurants, tourist services and adventure tour providers. The beach is protected by an our reef that reduces the surf and provides some nice coral formations for snorkeling.
