Mahekal Beach Resort on Playa del Carmen's north beach is a vacation oasis on the sand

This is a prized location and a perfect setting for a vacation. The tropical ambiance of the Caribbean is in full force at Mahekal Beach Resort with quaint thatched roof buildings, two swimming pools, a proliferation of exotic plants and gardens, and paths that wind their way through it all, ultimately leading to the beach. The combined effect is very pleasing and colorful, and a welcome attitude adjuster for those coming from the concrete jungles of the north.

Restaurants, pools & facilities Mahekal Beach Resort has a lot to offer. There are two restaurants, two swimming pools, a large palapa with ping-pong, pool tables and a swing bar, a pool side grill for lunch, a full service dive shop/ watersports center, a massage therapist, theme night entertainment, musical entertainment and more. Breakfast and dinner are included (lunch additional). Lunch can be served at the grill, on the beach or at pool side. Dinners are served in the big palapa restaurants (great atmosphere). Mahekal Beach Resort has 24 hour security, in room safes, beach towels, daily maid service, bottled purified water, 120V electricity (US standard), and either garden or ocean/ pool view rooms. Telephone service is available and most rooms have AC. Ceiling fans are in every room.

Garden View Pueblito Rooms
The cabanas in the Pueblito section are the most quiet, secluded and relaxing guestrooms; and while these are our least expensive rooms, they are also our newest! Pueblito rooms are within 300 feet of the beach and are steps from the Caribe pool. From spacious terraces and balconies of these bungalows you will enjoy overlooking and interior courtyard with tropical gardens.

Garden View Caribe Rooms
The cabanas in the Caribe section are the classic Mahekal Beach Resort rooms and consist of individual bungalows or individual rooms in a two-unit, two-level casita. Garden View units are close to the Casa Club (Our poolside bar and social gathering spot.), the Caribe pool, and only 200 feet from the beach.

Ocean View Rooms
The Ocean view rooms are located in two sections, Caribe or Aventura, and are either individual bungalows or individual rooms in a two-unit, two-level casita.
  The cabanas in the Caribe section are the classic Mahékal Beach Resort hotel rooms and are perfect for people who love nature. From the balcony of these bungalows you will enjoy the natural beauty of tropical gardens and the breeze of the Caribbean Sea. The rooms in the Aventura section are located in three-story buildings where the rooms with ocean views are on the first and second floor.

Ocean Front Rooms
Most of our Ocean Front rooms are single thatched-roofed bungalows offering large porches complete with authentic, locally crafted Mexican wood furniture and hammocks. Two of our ocean front units are spacious connecting rooms located in one of the Aventura buildings. All ocean front units are right on the beach, where you can listen to the waves at night and enjoy the sea breeze all day. Casita 31P is a premium Ocean Front bungalow located in the Aventura section a few steps away from the ocean.

Our three penthouses, near the oceanfront Aventura pool, are oversized rooms, offering large, very private decks, with spectacular views of the Caribbean Sea.
