Riviera Maya beaches of Tankah bay, Soliman bay, Aventuras Akumal

Hurricane Dean took landfall on the Yucatan peninsula, Mexico around 1 or 2 A.M. on the morning of August 21. The eye came ashore in the vicinity of Mahahual, in the southeast part of the state in the area known as La Costa Maya. Dean was a catagory 5 hurricane traveling at 20+ miles per hour with 160 mph sustained winds.

This page is a collection of photos to show the general condition of the Riviera Maya beaches of Tankah bay, Soliman bay, Aventuras Akumal on August 22, the day after the storm passed. This page will be updated tomorrow with new areas.
