This accommodation is the spacious first floor of a two-story villa and has central air conditioning, two bedrooms with king size beds, an entertainment room with two single beds, and two bathrooms. Of the two bedrooms, one is on the beach side with a slider to the beach patio, the other is on the garden side. The entertainment room with two single beds partitions from the living room by lowering a pair of split bamboo blinds between the two rooms. It also has a slider to the beach side patio.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a 4 burner stove, microwave, toaster, blender and coffee maker. And it also has a raised counter with bar stools for socializing or casual meals. For more formal meals a dining table between the kitchen and living room seats 6. The living room is comfortably furnished with white wicker cushioned sofa and chairs, and has a slider to a beach side patio shaded patio as well.
The beach patio is a nice refuge from the sun and a perfect vantage point for enjoying the Caribbean view while socializing. There is a marvelous blue beach bed suspended by ropes below a thatched roof, all draped in a gauzy white canopy. A little closer to the surf line is a hammocks strung between palms.
South Akumal is primarily a residential neighborhood and is quiet and serene. If you are a snorkeler you will discover nice coral formations in South Akumal bay. For shopping, Central Akumal is just a couple of miles north and also has restaurants, bars, water sports, etc.
