Enjoy the luxury of Casa Delfin with direct access to Yal-Ku lagoon in North Akumal. Designed to accommodate large groups, Casa Delfin provides spacious living inside and out with five air conditioned bedroom suites.
Of the five bedrooms there are two with one king bed in each (one of these is the master suite on the top floor), one bedroom with a queen bed, and two bedrooms with two double beds each. Each has individually controlled air conditioning, private bathroom with sink, toilet, and shower. Each level of the house has one bedroom on the lagoon side and each of these has access to a lagoon side exterior verandah or terrace. The lower level verandah has a view of the palms and a little bit of the lagoon. The second level terrace has a wider elevated view of the palms and lagoon, and the rooftop sun deck has an incredible panoramic view of the jungle, palms and all of Yal-ku lagoon.
The ground floor features a entrance foyer with a bronze sculpture that circulates water through a tropical fish motif. The foyer leads directly to a large living room with built-in semicircular couch overlooking the lagoon side garden and palms. The couch faces a curved glass wall with doors out to the furnished lagoon side verandah with gas grill. Next to the living room is a built-in service bar area with refrigerated cooler for beverages. Just off the verandah a path leads to Yal-ku lagoon. It couldn't be easier to walk down to the lagoon, slip your mask and fins on and swim with parrot fish, angel fish, sergeant majors and other tropical fish.
The second floor features a large living/dining area, kitchen, and furnished terrace that's the same size and shape as the lower level verandah (directly over it). Across from the couches and chairs in the living room is a flat screen TV with satellite service (US content) and a DVD/CD player. A WiFi Internet connection is available at no cost. Also on the second level is a fully equipped kitchen. If you would like to hire your caretaker, Rene, to fix some special dinners just arrange it when you arrive so he can work it into his schedule (additional fee required).
For a special treat go to the rooftop deck and enjoy a spectacular view of Yal-ku lagoon. Sunbathe in privacy from your rooftop perch or relax in a sling back chair in the shade palapa next to the pool. The pool has a great view of Yal-ku. At night it is wonderful to turn off the lights and turn on the pool heater (in winter), relax, and stargaze to your heart's content. This is a wonderful location and the view is one of the best in Akumal.
Restaurants and shopping nearby include Que Onda restaurant, just around the corner opposite the lagoon. On your way toward the center of Akumal you'll pass La Lunita and La Buena Vida, both on Half Moon Bay, and two convenience stores also on Half Moon Bay. Central Akumal is about a 5 minute drive away for a wider selection of restaurants, stores, dive shops, beach bar and more. Recent improvements at Casa Delfin All new appliances in the kitchen. The side by side refrigerator/freezer makes ice cubes from agua purificado, the stove has 6 burners, and the dishwasher is a quiet Bosch. The owners have added some new linens and completed the interior decorating. Out by the lagoon there are new sturdy wooden steps with a handrail into the lagoon, and a large palapa. The lagoon side palapa has a table with 4 chairs, also 4 adirondack type chairs, and a hammock.
