Keeping in step with the traditional round thatched design of the Maya, Casa Alux, pronounced A- LOOSH, is actually two round houses joined together by a covered patio surfaced with beautiful Ticul marble. A large stone terrace with a swimming pool faces the sea. It's a great place for sunrises, daytime tanning or nocturnal star-gazing and an evening dip. There are lounge chairs in full sun and hammocks under roof for your siesta by the sea. From here there are glass sliders that open to the interiors of each of the round houses. This is a nice design for entertaining,providing a spacious combination on a single level that's excellent for casual parties that meander around the grounds and inside the two houses.
Inside the casa The first of the two houses has the main living room with a comfortable couch, chairs, chaise lounge and library. Panoramic windows in the living room take full advantage of the gorgeous elevated view of the Caribbean. Also in this house is the dining area, a full kitchen with raised counter and bar stools, and one private bedroom with a queen size bed and private bathroom. The other house has two more bedrooms; one with a king size bed and private bathroom, and the other has two single beds,a trundle bed and a private bathroom. Between the two bedrooms is the entertainment center with a TV, DVD, VCR and selection of movies.
Akumal main beach nearby The center of Akumal and Akumal's main beach are within easy walking distance for convenient shopping, visits to the beach bar or lounging on the sand by the sea. Sunbathing at the house is also a pleasure with the view and virtually constant sea breeze. The spacious green grounds, private elevated vantage point and proximity to town make Casa Alux a great choice. |
